Shock 'funeral' claim made over King Charles and brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's relationship amid scandal
The brothers have an 11-year age gap between themA shock claim about King Charles and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s relationship has been made by royal sources.
The royal brothers’ bond is reportedly at breaking point following a turbulent and controversial few years for the former Duke of York.

King Charles and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s bond ‘broken’
Andrew and King Charles’ bond is worlds away from how their relationship used to be when they were younger.
According to the late Queen Elizabeth II herself, Charles and his sister, Princess Anne, were “very excited” at the news that she was expecting Andrew. In a letter to her midwife, Sister Helen Rowe, she reportedly said: “The children were very excited at the news of the baby. Especially Charles, who loves small children.”
However, things have clearly changed in the decades since – especially in the last few years – with the royal brothers’ bond reportedly now at “breaking point”.
In recent years, Andrew has been embroiled in scandal after scandal. His friendship with the late, convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, has come under much scrutiny.
He has also faced allegations of sexual assault. The late Virginia Giuffre alleged she was made to have sex with Andrew on three separate occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein. Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations.
Last year, he was stripped of his royal titles and honours amid mounting scrutiny. Meanwhile, last month, he was evicted from his Windsor home, Royal Lodge. He was also arrested on his birthday (February 19) on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Hours after his arrest, he was released under investigation.
Speaking to HELLO!, an associate of Andrew’s allegedly said that people are right to assume that the bond between the king and his brother is at its “lowest ebb”.

Andrew and Charles’ bond at ‘lowest ebb’
“You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work that out. A lot of people got badly hurt by a person whom [Andrew] should never have associated himself with, under any circumstances. That is one part of this. The other part is how and what has happened [between Andrew and the king]. Would you treat your brother like this in the circumstances? They are people, just like us,” they said.
Royal biographers believe that the brothers are furious with each other and that their relationship is beyond repair.
Meanwhile, Andrew Lownie, who wrote Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, said that their feelings run so deep that “I don’t think we’ll see Andrew at Charles’s funeral”.

King Charles feels ‘betrayed’
Meanwhile, royal author Robert Jobson claims that the king feels “betrayed” by the scandal surrounding Andrew and his links to Epstein.
He claims that in 2013 or 2014, the king and Andrew had a “massive conversation” about Andrew’s links to the disgraced financier. Andrew reportedly gave his brother his “complete and utter assurance” that he had done “nothing wrong”.
He also alleged that Charles was never convinced by Andrew becoming trade envoy and always “had doubts” – as he told the queen. Now he is likely thinking “I told you so”.
However, according to some royal experts, Andrew and the king were never close, even growing up. In fact, due to the age difference, Charles was “more avuncular than a big brother”.
“They were never close, because Charles was studious and Andrew is not. Their interests are so different,” Ingrid Seward claimed. However, she added that Charles wouldn’t have enjoyed evicting his brother from the Royal Lodge.
