Meghan Markle cruelly trolled over 'cringey' behaviour towards pregnant friend on red carpet

The pair attended an event for the Alliance for Children’s Rights in Beverly Hills in honour of Kelly’s work with the Alliance of Moms.
Alliance of Moms supports the work of the Alliance for Children’s Rights. It’s a community of philanthropists who “support pregnant and parenting youth in LA’s foster care system so that they can build a bright future for themselves and their children”.
On Thursday, Meghan and Kelly showcased their incredibly close bond on the red carpet. But some fans weren’t keen on the display.

Hitting the red carpet, Meghan and Kelly were seen wrapping their arms around each other as they beamed for the cameras.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, also sweetly cradled pregnant Kelly’s baby bump. Kelly looked glowing in a tight black gown, which featured a high neckline and long sleeves.
Kelly announced in November that she’s pregnant with a baby boy. The news came three years after Kelly’s son George tragically died in July 2022, at the age of nine, of Covid and viral meningitis.
For the event on Thursday night, Meghan also looked radiant in a navy strapless Ralph Lauren gown.

Videos from the event have since appeared online, showing Meghan and Kelly hugging and smiling on the red carpet.
But some people had some harsh words for the duchess. One person said on X: “This is so nauseating to watch.”
Another wrote of Meghan: “She’s acting so cringe.”
Someone else commented: “Oh dear. Now Meghan’s helping cradle someone ELSE’S baby bump, thereby stealing thunder yet again.”

However, there was plenty of warm reaction to Meghan and Kelly’s friendship as one fan gushed: “Such a beautiful friendship.”
Alongside a video of the pair on the red carpet, another said: “Meghan and her close friend Kelly. This is so touching.”
A third added: “Meghan looks incredible! So happy for Kelly and her pregnancy. Happily touching her bump in peace.”
Meghan and Kelly’s friendship
Kelly has opened up about her special friendship with Meghan. She spoke about how Meghan had supported her after the loss of George.
Speaking to HELLO! at Thursday’s event, Kelly gushed: “We met 20 years ago, in a different life, and it’s so amazing to show up for each other when things are also not perfect and great.
“She’s been a part of my journey with the loss of my son, and she hasn’t left my side since. It’s a beautiful friendship, and I’m really grateful to have her.”
She added: “She not only shows up for my family, but it’s a real privilege to be able to watch her mother too and so it means a lot for her to be a part of this.”
