When her husband Prince William is king, Kate Middleton will become queen consort.

And, according to a royal author, the Princess of Wales, 44, may already feel ready for the role.

The Prince of Wales, 43, is heir to the throne. He’ll become monarch upon the abdication or death of his father, King Charles, 77.

Is Kate Middleton ready to become queen?

Although there are no signs William and Kate will become king and queen anytime soon, it’s believed they may already be preparing for their future roles.

Speaking to the Mirror, royal author Katie Nicholl shared her thoughts on the couple’s future.

They’ve had plenty of exposure and have been well prepared.

She claimed: “I asked someone who knows Kate and William very well whether she is ready for the next step up to Queen, and the response was a categoric ‘yes’.

“Of course, she and William want Charles to be on the throne for many more years to come but, if that moment comes sooner than hoped for, they are absolutely ready and more than equipped for the roles that lie ahead of them. They’ve had plenty of exposure and have been well prepared.”

‘Easter will be telling’

Meanwhile, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has revealed her thoughts on William and Kate’s current roles in the monarchy.

She told OK!: “They have been distancing themselves from the Sussexes for the past seven years. I don’t think they trouble themselves about what Harry and Meghan are up to. They have enough to deal with themselves. We’ve yet to see proof that they and the other royals are in fact distancing themselves from Beatrice and Eugenie — Easter will be telling.”

Bond said she has “no doubt” that William is “extremely sensitive to public opinion and he will do what is necessary to listen and to protect the reputation of the monarchy”.

Easter is coming up and it’s marked annually by the royal family with a service in Windsor.

William’s cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, have been keeping a low profile recently amid the scandal surrounding their father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his past association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

But will Beatrice and Eugenie join the royals for the Easter service next month?

He said: “I think it’s safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good, and I embrace that and I enjoy that change. I don’t fear it. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think need to happen.”
