Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are reportedly “struggling to believe” that their uncle, King Charles, would evict them from their royal homes.

There’s much speculation swirling around over the sisters’ roles in the royal family amid the scandal surrounding their parents. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson are both under intense scrutiny over their past association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

With the royal family distancing themselves from the king’s brother Andrew, there’s been speculation over whether the same will happen with Beatrice and Eugenie.

But, according to a new report, the sisters may know how to avoid this happening.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie’s ‘threat’ over being ‘banished’ from royal life

Speaking to Closer, a source has reportedly claimed: “They feel strongly that they have a right to hang on to their royal homes and their ties to the family. They both love having residences connected to royal palaces, for them it feels like home so of course they are hugely concerned and will use all the leverage they have to stand their ground.

“They’re still struggling to believe that their uncle and cousin would really evict them but if that does come to pass it will be the spark that lights the fuse. There’s been some talk that they may resort to hiring lawyers and going to the press to make a stink.”

The insider added: “And, of course, there’s also the possibility that they could do a tell-all. That’s going to become a lot more likely if William goes after them. It’s certainly something they can use as a threat to try and get him to back off.”

The source also claimed that the sisters “understand why Charles and William had to treat Andrew the way they have, but they see no reason they should be punished for his sins”.

They added that all Beatrice and Eugenie have done is “keep their heads down and try to serve the Crown as best as they can, [so] it makes no sense to banish them”.

Beatrice lives in the Cotswolds with her husband Edoardo and their two daughters. But it’s believed she also has an apartment within St. James’s Palace.

Meanwhile, Eugenie splits her time between the UK and Portugal. In the UK, Eugenie has Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace.

King Charles’ ‘stance’ on nieces Beatrice and Eugenie

According to reports, King Charles has been supportive of his nieces amid the Epstein scandal surrounding his brother Andrew.

Speaking to the Express, royal author Robert Jobson said: “Charles loves those girls. Always has. But he won’t go to war for Andrew – and they know it.”

It’s certainly something they can use as a threat to try and get him to back off.

But when it comes to Beatrice and Eugenie’s cousin and future king, Prince William, things may be different.

The author added: “William is cold-eyed about the institution. Unsentimental. Catherine backs people who stay quiet and get on with things. Of the three, Charles is the only one who actually cares.

“But in the end the rule should be simple: you work for the Crown, you keep the title. You don’t, you don’t. Charles and William need to make that call.”
