Kate Middleton deals with unfortunate 'struggle' with her hat during historic ceremony

However, due to typical British weather, the Princess of Wales, 44, did face a struggle.
On Wednesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended Canterbury Cathedral for the installation of the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally.
But as Kate arrived at the cathedral, she gracefully avoided a wardrobe mishap as the windy weather threatened to blow her elegant hat off.

For the ceremony, style icon Kate wore a grey checked coat dress and black stiletto heels.
But her hat choice is what stole attention. The Princess of Wales opted for the black and ivory Houndstooth Straw Boater by Juliette Botterill.
The wind was blowing a gale, yet Catherine, Princess of Wales maintained such grace.
According to the designer’s website, the hat is crafted from black and ivory houndstooth straw and adorned with a single ostrich quill.

Arriving for the ceremony, Kate was seen holding tightly onto the hat as the windy weather threatened to whisk it away.
Royal fans on X gushed over Kate’s “pure class” as she avoided a fashion malfunction.

‘She handled it as always’
Alongside a video of Kate holding onto the hat as she arrived for the ceremony, one person said: “Poor Princess Catherine struggling with the wind.”
Another admitted: “I felt so bad watching this… but she handled it as always.”
A third wrote: “Still pure class though.”
Meanwhile, someone else said: “The wind was blowing a gale, yet Catherine, Princess of Wales maintained such grace.”
Prince William, 43, and Princess Kate represented King Charles at the historic ceremony on Wednesday.
Dame Sarah was confirmed as the first female Archbishop of Canterbury last year. She has become the first woman to lead the Church of England in the 1,400-year history of the role.
On Wednesday, following the ceremony, the Prince and Princess of Wales hailed Dame Sarah on her new role.

Alongside photos from the ceremony, the couple’s Instagram account said: “Marking a historic moment for the Church of England.
“Attending the Installation of Dame Sarah Mullally as the Archbishop of Canterbury at Canterbury Cathedral – the first woman to take on the role in its 1,400-year history.”
Fans gushed over William and Kate’s attendance as one person said in the comments: “Such a historic moment! So glad The Prince and Princess of Wales were there to witness it.”
