The secret message Kate Middleton hid in her wedding flowers for Prince William 'revealed'
This was such a sweet gesture...
Princess Kate Middleton communicated a very special message to her beloved new husband on her wedding day in 2011, according to experts.
It wasn’t through her dazzling smile or even in her vows. No, apparently, it was through the flora she chose for her bouquet.
Here is everything we know…
Princess Kate Middleton’s secret message to Prince William on wedding day
Princess Kate Middleton opted for all white flowers in a small, neat, yet elegant bouquet, which perfectly complimented her unforgettable Alexander McQueen gown.
She chose locally grown flowers, wired with green leaves to keep them in place in a pretty bunch all day.
The bouquet, which was repeatedly compared to one carried by Princess Grace of Monaco, was largely dominated by fragrant lily of the valley.
The flower was said to be one of the late Queen’s favourite flowers.

However, there were also sprigs of other white flowers in the mix, giving the bouquet a heartfelt, personal touch.

Kate chose small white buds of Sweet William, as a romantic nod to her groom.
The flower is said to denote gallantry and with a very fitting name and beautiful, delicate petals, it really added to the arrangement.
Princess Kate Middleton followed a special tradition
Princess Kate also included ivy and hyacinth in the posy.
A prig of myrtle was also added, taken from a bush planted at Osborne House by Queen Victoria.
According to reports, royal brides have included this in their bouquets since the 19th century.
These flowers are also said to hold very special meanings.
Ivy is said to represent wedded love, whilst hyacinths are said to symbolise the constancy of love.
Myrtle is also said to be an emblem of marriage, whilst lily of the valley supposedly mean “a return to happiness”.
Another heartfelt tradition was also followed when it came to Princess Kate Middleton’s wedding posy.
After the celebrations and reception, the bouquet was taken to Westminster Abbey where it was placed on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

This has been followed since the Queen Mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, placed her wedding day bouquet on the tomb on April 26 of 1923.
Elizabeth had lost her brother, Fergus, in World War One. She made the gesture to pay tribute to him who had died in that conflict.
Since then, as per Royal Central, all senior royal brides since have upheld this heart-wrenching tradition.
William and Kate’s big day
Princess Kate Middleton’s wedding bouquet divided royal observers at the time. Some noted how it complemented the lace in her stunning dress, whilst others felt it was too small and not eye-catching enough when she was filmed in Westminster Abbey on her big day.
Regardless, Princess Kate Middleton’s fairytale royal wedding to Prince William was one to remember.
On April 29, 2011, the world saw the future king marry his future queen.
Prince William’s wedding outfit followed tradition, wearing a bright scarlet tunic and cap of the Colonel of the Irish Guards.
Princess Kate’s gown
Meanwhile, Kate wore a long-sleeved gown, which featured the symbolic rose of England, thistle of Scotland, daffodil of Wales and Shamrock of Ireland in the skirt tulle.
It was made up of an iconic lace-applique bodice with a narrow waist and a flowing skirt.

Kate Middleton also wore a Cartier halo diamond tiara. It was made in 1936 and given to Queen Elizabeth by her mother on her wedding day. The tiara was attached to a full veil, made from Chantilly lace.
Her dress featured a train that measured nine feet (2.7 metres) long.
