Royal nanny Maria Teresa's non-negotiable when it comes to looking after George, Charlotte and Louis 'revealed'
Inside the lives of George, Charlotte and Louis...
Royal nanny Maria Teresa is known for being a huge part of George, Charlotte and Louis’s lives. Not only that, she juggles several plates to aid Prince William and Princess Kate in their busy routines.
But how does she do it all? Apparently, she has an intrinsic skill she uses daily to keep things running smoothly in the Wales household.
Royal nanny Maria Teresa’s non-negotiable at home with the Wales family
Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, was rewarded with a special honour on Tuesday when she received the Royal Victorian Medal in Silver from Prince William at the investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.
This amazing accolade was a wonderful token of thanks for all her hard work looking after young royals, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Maria Teresa has worked with the Waleses since 2014 and has some prestigious training under her belt.
Maria was trained at the Norland College in Bath, a famed school for teaching nannies a world-class early childhood education.
And it seems Maria was taught something very important that is a non-negotiable when balancing the lives of the royals.
Nanny Louenna Hood and author of Your Baby’s First Year, a fellow Norland College alum, has opened up about the intrinsic skill Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo exercises daily.

Speaking to Hello, she explained: “Organisation is key for making each child have a filling breakfast, fuelling them for a busy day at school. And remembering to send the children to school each day in the right uniform or sports kit. With children at school during the day, you are required to organise school pick-ups and plan logistics of the different pick-up times due to after-school sports and clubs.”

Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo’s alleged rules when caring for George, Charlotte and Louis
According to Louenna Hood, Maria Teresa likely practises a special method when ensuring the royal children are well fed.
When organising their food, Maria Teresa is said to be trained to approach meal time in a way to prevent ‘fussy eaters’.
Louenna detailed that this method includes eating with the children and encouraging them to help out at meal time.
Apparently, George, Charlotte and Louis are likely enforced to try everything on their plates – even if it is just a taste.
However, if they don’t like it, it is removed from their plates.
Dr Sasha Hall, a HCPC-registered senior education and child psychologist also explained to Hello why this rule is so important.
“Children are more motivated when they feel a sense of control. Providing structured choices, such as one bite or five bites, encourages participation without creating power struggles,” the child psychologist explained. “The key is that eating is framed as a choice, not a test.”

Maria Teresa’s tutoring of George, Charlotte and Louis
This isn’t the only habit Maria Teresa is said to live by when looking after George, Charlotte and Louis.
Maria, who is Spanish, has reportedly been instrumental in helping the children to learn the language and regularly includes tutoring them into their routine.
It seems that Maria Teresa’s influence and guidance has had a profound impact on the children’s language skills.
According to reports, by the time Princess Charlotte headed off to nursery, she could already count in Spanish. George had also learnt to count in Spanish at a similar age.
