King Charles set to 'address the nation in poignant moment' for Queen Elizabeth II's 100th birthday
The king lost his beloved mother in 2022King Charles will reportedly mark what would have been his late mother Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday with an address to the nation.
Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96 at her Scottish estate, Balmoral Castle. April 21 this year would have been the late queen’s 100th birthday.
According to reports, the king, 77, will address the nation to celebrate his mother’s life and legacy.

The Mirror claims that King Charles, alongside Queen Camilla, will also host a special reception at Buckingham Palace. It’ll be for representatives from organisations and charities with a deep connection to the late queen.
It’s reported that senior members of the royal family will attend, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne.

Sources also revealed that Charles’ emotional tribute will celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s achievements and dedication to duty.
His speech will reportedly include a video montage of special moments from her life. These will include footage of her service during WWII, her royal tours and engagements and her platinum jubilee celebrations in 2022.

On April 21, King Charles’ tribute will be broadcast to the nation and the Commonwealth.

An insider has claimed: “The 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II birth will not only be a poignant moment of reflection for His Majesty, it will be a cause for celebration of an incredible life well lived and a life dedicated to duty and to her country.
“It is both the king and queen’s sincere wish that the commemorations honour the late queen’s profound devotion to service and celebrate how much she was respected and admired around the world.”
They added: “The tone will not be somber, but rather a celebration and a chance for people across our four nations and the Commonwealth to come together and reflect on an amazing life and legacy of our late queen.”
In addition to this, a range of engagements will also be held around the period to reflect Queen Elizabeth II’s incredible 70-year reign.

National memorial to Queen Elizabeth II
Meanwhile, a national memorial honouring Queen Elizabeth II will be built in St James’s Park after securing planning permission recently.
The statue will be placed at Marlborough Gate, the entrance to the park.
It will be accompanied by a statue of her beloved late husband, Prince Philip, who died in April 2021.
