Prince Philip’s ‘nickname’ for Meghan Markle
Vickers has recently released a biography on the late Queen Elizabeth II ahead of what would have been her 100th birthday on April 21.
Vickers’ new book claims that Philip would refer to the Duchess of Sussex as “the American”.
As reported by HELLO!, Hugo writes: “The staff at Sandringham joyfully surrounded the couple at the annual Christmas party and nicknamed the actress ‘Sparkle’. Prince Philip, however, was not taken in. He referred to her as ‘the American’.”

‘Why can’t Meghan just give up her acting career?’
Speaking in 2020, royal author Ingrid Seward claimed that Philip may have felt “disappointed” over the couple’s decision.
The late Duke of Edinburgh made the ultimate sacrifice after marrying Queen Elizabeth II.
After Elizabeth became queen upon the death of her father King George VI in February 1952, Prince Philip gave up his promising naval career to devote his life to royal duty and support his wife in her role.
He just cannot understand why she couldn’t support Harry.
Seward previously told Sky News: “I think he’s very, very disappointed because I think he feels he gave up his naval career in order to stand by the queen and help the monarchy.
“And why can’t Meghan just give up her acting career, support her husband and support the monarchy? He just cannot understand why she couldn’t support Harry and help him rather than wanting to have her voice.”

Meghan and Harry’s shock tell-all interview with Oprah
Prince Philip died in April 2021 at the age of 99. Shortly before his death, Harry and Meghan’s explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey aired.
Harry and Meghan made several accusations in the interview. Shockingly, they claimed that there had been “concerns and conversations” shared by a family member about “how dark” their son Archie’s skin would be when he was born.

The couple insisted the comment wasn’t made by Prince Philip or Queen Elizabeth II.
At the time, the palace released a statement to address the allegations. It read: “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
Following his grandfather’s death, Harry returned to the UK to attend Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17, 2021. Meghan stayed in the US as she was pregnant with the couple’s second child, daughter Princess Lilibet.
