Trump has previously criticised the SussexesUS President Donald Trump has made a dig at Meghan Markle following her and Prince Harry’s dramatic exit from royal duties.
Trump, 79, is no stranger to sharing his brutally honest opinions on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In a new book written by top political journalist Susan Page, Trump speaks about members of the royal family and shares the conversations he reportedly had with the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Donald Trump’s comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
Page has spoken directly to the president for her new book, The Queen and Her Presidents: The Hidden Hand That Shaped History.
In one extract, serialised in The Telegraph, Trump opens up about his relationship with the royal family.
He also admits he asked Queen Elizabeth II about the Sussexes’ royal departure “constantly”.
Trump tells Page, according to her book: “I’d say, ‘Come on, tell me.’ ‘No, no. It’s very nice.’ Everybody was nice. She liked everybody.
“I couldn’t get her to say it. I’m good at that, too. She would always say, ‘No, no, would be lovely, lovely.’ But it wasn’t lovely, and I think it hurt her. I really think it hurt her. It was tremendous dissension, and I just don’t think they treated her with the respect that she should have, frankly.”

Trump’s view on Harry and Meghan
According to the book, Trump adds to Page: “I actually told her I couldn’t do what she does, because she was very cool on the subject. She would talk about it but never said anything bad about either of them, and I think she loved Harry, really loved Harry. But Harry’s been, I feel, led astray. I really do. I think he’s been terribly led astray. It’s just so disrespectful the way that happened, and she didn’t deserve that.”
Trump says he believes the late queen was “stunned by what was happening, actually” and she “couldn’t believe it in real time”.
Royal Insider has contacted representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
