Several royal experts have claimed Prince Harry‘s old social circle lost touch with him over the years. They allege it took a downfall after he married Meghan Markle and eventually decided to step down from his active duties. In recent times, the Duke of Sussex has been spotted attending events solo and even not hanging out with his close-knit circle when he is back in the UK.
Duke is facing the consequence of ‘burning bridges’
Royal author Phil Dampier is the latest expert who has claimed Prince Harry’s inner friends have taken a toll. He claims his life now revolves around Meghan.
The expert opines Harry has not found a close circle after moving to Montecito. He says it could have a negative impact on him.
“I get the impression he hasn’t got a circle of drinking buddies he can unwind within Montecito, which has a population of older people, and I’m sure that takes its toll,” the author says.
“Not only has he lost his family, his royal status and military connections, but he’s also lost a lot of friends.”
The cost is ‘massive’ for both Harry and Meghan both. Mr Dampier is not the only one having this opinion. Earlier this year, Hollywood expert Mark Boardman talked about Harry’s drastic lifestyle changes as he moved to another country and now ‘lacks’ a permanent residence in the UK.
“During his visits to London, he typically resides in hotels and avoids public appearances. Undoubtedly, Prince Harry longs for his old friendships,” he offered talking about the impact of Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave their original home base.
Prince Harry ‘skipped’ close friend’s wedding
The distance between Prince Harry’s friends and new life is more discernible as the Sussexes missed the wedding of an important pal who was present at their own wedding.
The 38-year-old’s close friend Jack Mann got hitched this year with Isabella Clark at St Peter’s church in Suffolk, England. But both the Duke of Sussex and the former TV star were no-shows.
Fans remember Mann from the couple’s bombshell six-part Netflix documentary. He was featured alongside Prince Harry’s other friends, dubbed as the band of brothers.
Speaking of the Duke’s absence from his old life, former royal staff Grant Harrold said: “I know quite a few of Prince Harry’s friends, who don’t hear from him at all now.”
But his old pals are not the only ones who don’t hear from him. It is also speculated that Prince William and the younger brother have drifted apart. Both the royal members, who are known for their social and philanthropy works, used to be close.
Harrold added: “And that’s what’s so sad about it now, how they’ve gone from best of friends to non-existent really. They have become so distant.”
