Meghan Markle's friend Mindy Kaling told royal on her podcast she finds her 'so intimidating'
Mindy and Meghan are 'mum' friends and email pen pals...Meghan Markle is being joined by her friend Mindy Kaling on her new Netflix cooking show – but the actress actually told the royal on her podcast that she finds her ‘so intimidating’ years before.
The Duchess of Sussex admitted on her new series, With Love, Meghan, that the duo became ’email pen pals’ after The Office star appeared on Archetypes.

In September 2022, the comedy star was invited onto Meghan’s Spotify project. They discussed dreaming of the ‘perfect’ married life while growing up and how they were both lonely and shy as children.
Mindy, 45, spoke on how she felt she was overlooked in her professional and personal life.
She said: “Like, why am I not the person that got married? You know, and I think it’s harder to talk about. I’m still examining it. It makes me emotional.”
Mindy Kaling then asked Meghan Markle on her podcast: “Were you not the pretty one growing up?” and the mum-of-two admitted “No. Oh God, no”.
The Duchess of Sussex went on to refer to herself as the ‘ugly duckling’.
Mindy was surprised to hear this, calling it a ‘revelation’, adding: “I went through life being like, okay, well, Meghan Markle was like that one nice hot girl who has her head screwed on right cause her mom’s probably like, really cool.
“But knowing that you were not that is news to me, probably news to people listening to this.”
She found Meghan ‘intimidating’
When the two TV stars bonded over being the lonely girl, Mindy admitted she thought Meghan seemed like she had it all together.
The royal said she never ‘had anyone to sit with at lunch’ and said she was ‘shy’.
Mindy told her: “But you do seem so intimidating. Your life is together, like you’re so beautiful. Even in the Oprah thing is like, oh, my God, she has chickens. Like, who has their [beep] together enough to raise chickens and kids, like, come on.
“It’s nice to know that you were a lonely kid who didn’t like necessarily being that way.”
Elsewhere on the podcast, Meghan Markle and Mindy Kaling opened up over the fear of being single and how people told the Suits star she was ‘lucky’ Prince Harry chose her.

The producer was also invited alongside other celebrity friends of the Duchess to appear on With Love, Meghan, which aired on March 4.
The 43-year-old gave Mindy tips on how to host children parties and to present food in a fun way to appeal to youngsters.
During their chat there was an awkward moment where Mindy referred to her as Meghan Markle and the royal fired back to Kaling that her name is actually Sussex now.
