Meghan, 43, and Mindy, 45, have been friends for a number of years. It’s said they built a friendship after Mindy appeared on Meghan’s podcast Archetypes in 2022.
They recorded an episode called The Stigma of the Singleton, during which Mindy opened up to the duchess about “the joys, challenges, and stigmas of her life as a single, unmarried woman”.
She’s a very generous woman who knew I needed a break.
Mindy has three children – daughter Katherine Swati, seven, son Spencer, four, and daughter Anne, born in February 2024.
However, she has remained private about the children’s father’s identity.

Mindy Kaling gushes over ‘generous’ Meghan
During an interview with TIME magazine in February, Mindy explained how she ended up on Meghan’s new Netflix series.
She said: “I was on maternity leave with my daughter in March and April, and Meghan texted me that she was doing a show where she was going to cook for her friends. Would I want to come to Montecito and have her cook for me?
“I wanted to get taken care of in that moment of my life. That was a fun maternity leave field trip. I left with a basket of fresh produce and homemade jam and hot sauce because she knew I loved hot sauce. She’s a very generous woman who knew I needed a break.”
Mindy also went on to reveal a “misconception” she believes people have of Meghan. She said: “I think a misconception about Meghan is that she’s in any way fussy or has expectations of fanciness. She really is a down-to-earth person who knows a lot of fun tricks to make entertaining and cooking easier.”
