The Princess of Wales, 43, and the king, 76, missed last year’s service as they both received treatment for cancer. While King Charles continues his treatment, Kate announced in January 2025 that she’s now in remission.
On Monday (March 10), senior members of the royal family arrived at Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day service.
Around 3pm UK time, Prince William and Kate arrived together as they entered the Abbey.

Princess Kate in ‘remission’ with her cancer
Kate’s Commonwealth service appearance comes weeks after she announced she’s in remission with her cancer.
In January, the princess said on Instagram: “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery.”
She added: “My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.”
Since then, the Princess of Wales has slowly started returning to her duties. Many royal experts have said Kate is now adapting to a “new normal” and will prioritise her health and family.
King Charles is still undergoing his treatment whilst he continues with his royal duties. In April 2025, the king and queen are set to visit Italy on a tour.
