Prince William and Princess Kate share new statement on the 'future' after Commonwealth Day service
The couple released the statement hours after attending the Commonwealth Day service
Prince William and Princess Kate have released a powerful statement on building a better future, just hours after joining King Charles and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day Service.
The Prince and Princess of Wales took to social media following the service, highlighting the significance of the Commonwealth and its 2025 theme, “Together We Thrive”.

Prince William and Kate’s statement on the future after Commonwealth Day
The royal couple shared their thoughts in a post on social media.
“Today is Commonwealth Day!” They wrote.
“A day to celebrate the shared values, diversity, and unity of the 56 nations that make up the Commonwealth. This year’s theme, ‘Together We Thrive’ is a reminder of the power of fostering strong, connected communities and empowering one another to build a better future.”
The message highlights the importance of collaboration and the Commonwealth’s commitment to unity across its 56 member nations.
Alongside the statement, Prince William, 42, and Kate, 43, shared a series of photos from the service.
Fans and well-wishers immediately flooded the comments to gush over the royal couple.

“So lovely to see you together. Princess Catherine looks stunning in red,” one wrote.
“Wonderful! I love seeing the Princess of Wales out and about and looking great!” Another agreed.
This year’s service marked a major milestone for Princess Kate. She returned to the annual event after missing last year’s event while undergoing preventative chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis.
In September 2024, the Princess of Wales completed her treatment and announced earlier this year that she was in remission.
Since then, Kate has gradually resumed royal duties.
Stepping into Westminster Abbey in a striking red Catherine Walker coatdress, Kate radiated confidence and grace.

King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Commonwealth Day service
King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, led the royal family at the event.
Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also in attendance.
Upon arrival at Westminster Abbey, the royals were met by the Dean of Westminster and greeted by members of the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, representing the world’s first Hindu eco-temple in Kingsbury, London.
The service was a reflection of King Charles’ dedication to the Commonwealth, a role he has embraced for over 40 years. Since 1969, Charles has visited 48 Commonwealth nations.
This year’s Commonwealth theme, Together We Thrive, was at the heart of yesterday’s service.
The theme emphasises unity, resilience, and the power of strong communities working together to shape a brighter future.
The 2,000 guests in attendance witnessed special musical performances, ceremonial traditions, and a celebration of the Commonwealth’s rich diversity.
