Reason why King Charles 'won't listen to Queen Camilla's demand over his health'

King Charles took some time out to focus on his health, but he has now returned to doing more duties – including an overseas trip to Italy this week.
But, according to a royal expert, the queen would “like him to take it easy”.

Royal author Phil Dampier has told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show: “Camilla is forever telling him to slow down. She’d like him to pace himself. She’d like him to take it easy.
“But he’s just got this work ethic. He is known for working late into the night and literally falling asleep at his desk.”

He added: “I think probably those days have gone and he needs to curtail that sort of ridiculous workload. But it’s just in his nature. It’s just in his blood. He likes being busy, he likes meeting people. He likes getting out and about, he likes doing the job, basically.”

Queen Camilla, 77, herself has recently spoken about wanting her husband to slow down.

Speaking to Jack Reacher author Lee Child at the second annual Queen’s Reading Room Festival at Hampton Court Palace in 2024, Camilla said the king is “not one for chilling”.
She said King Charles “won’t slow down and won’t do what he’s told”.
Well this week the king and queen aren’t slowing down as they travel to Italy for a state visit. They will visit the Holy See and the Republic of Italy from April 7 to April 10.
Meanwhile, on April 9, the king and queen will mark 20 years of marriage. They tied the knot in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on April 9, 2005.

But the couple won’t celebrate their anniversary alone. According to reports, they’ll spend their anniversary evening as guests of honour at a state banquet held in Rome.
They’ll join leading figures from Italian life at the dinner.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the king’s meeting with Pope Francis – head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State – has moved from April 8.

King Charles and Queen Camilla to travel to Italy for overseas visit
Early in the visit, Charles and Camilla will attend a service in the Sistine Chapel to reflect on Pope Francis and the king’s commitment to nature.
Meanwhile, the king will visit the Papal Basilica of St Paul’s Outside the Walls – one of the four major basilicas in Rome.
Whilst in Rome, King Charles will become the first British monarch to address a joint session of the Italian Parliament.
The monarch, alongside Queen Camilla and President Mattarella, will watch a flypast over Rome by the Frecce Tricolori and the Red Arrows.

The king and queen will then visit Ravenna, where they will attend a reception marking the 80th anniversary of the province’s liberation by Allied forces.
There will also be a festival taking part to celebrate Emilia-Romagna cuisine, Slow Food and the region’s produce.

According to reports, the king's meeting with head of the Catholic Church Pope Francis had been rescheduled.
The Pope has suffered with his health in recent months, having had pneumonia in both of his lungs in February.
Medical advisors say the Pope should take an "extended period of rest and recuperation". This means his meeting with the king may be postponed.
The visit has been called off by “mutual agreement” amid the Pope’s health. Pope Francis was struck down with pneumonia in both lungs in February.
