Prince Louis' adorable four-word 'remark' to mum Kate Middleton during VE Day flypast
Louis showcased his excitement as he watched on from the palace balcony
Prince Louis once again melted hearts as he joined the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony for VE Day celebrations, and now a lip reader has revealed the sweet four-word comment he reportedly made to his mum, Kate Middleton.
The seven-year-old royal could barely contain his excitement as he watched the Red Arrows soar across the sky in a dazzling flypast to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Standing beside his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and their parents, Prince William and Princess Kate, Prince Louis beamed as the aircraft thundered overhead.

What did Prince Louis say to Kate Middleton on VE Day?
Professional lip reader Jeremy Freeman spoke to the Mirror and revealed Louis’ enthusiasm throughout the event.
When Kate turned to him and asked “you excited?”, Louis pointed toward the skies and exclaimed: “Yes. Over there, Red Arrows!”
As the iconic jets streaked by, Louis reportedly screamed: “Yes! That’s so loud.”
Then came the heart-melting moment, as Louis apparently gushed: “What a wonderful day.” How sweet.
Kate responded with a warm smile and a chuckle, reportedly saying: “Yes, haha.”
Louis’ fascination with the flypast may stem from more than just childhood excitement.
In 2023, during The Big Help Out over the coronation weekend, Louis surprised royal watchers by revealing his dream job.
When a volunteer suggested he might grow up to be an artist, Louis boldly replied: “No, I want to be a fighter pilot.”
With the Red Arrows soaring overhead on VE Day, it was a full-circle moment for the young prince, whose wide-eyed wonder reminded many of his late great-grandfather, Prince Philip, who served as a naval officer during WWII.

The royal family’s VE Day celebrations
Louis also provided plenty of comic relief earlier in the day during the VE Day parade.
In a now-viral moment, the young royal was spotted brushing Prince William’s right shoulder – possibly attempting to remove dust or imaginary lint – much to the delight of royal watchers.
Another moment caught on camera showed Louis mimicking Prince George, 11, after his older brother brushed his hair out of his face.
Louis added his signature flair, playfully swishing his own hair in an exaggerated motion, prompting laughter online.
Fans on X couldn’t get enough.
Prince Louis out here stealing the show again.
“[Prince Louis] is the moment!” One wrote.
Another gushed: “Prince Louis out here stealing the show again. Someone give this kid a crown already.”
The day also held deep meaning for the royal family. Following the parade, George joined his parents at a veterans’ tea party where he spoke with 101-year-old D-Day veteran Alfred Littlefield.
Prince William said it was “very important” for the next generation to hear firsthand stories from those who served. George reportedly asked Mr. Littlefield how old he was during the war, showing sincere curiosity.
Senior royals, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, were present for the landmark event, which launched four days of national commemoration.
