Prince William and wife Kate reportedly played a game with their children on the Buckingham Palace balcony during VE Day celebrations this week.

The Wales family attended events on Monday (May 5) to mark VE Day – the day that celebrates the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces on May 8, 1945.

William, wife Kate and their three children stood on the balcony alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla to watch a flypast above.

But, apparently, the royals all got involved in a game on the balcony.

Prince William plays game with children on palace balcony at VE Day event, lip reader claims

Lipreader Nicola Hickling spoke to HELLO! about the game that William and Kate apparently played on the balcony. They were joined by their three kids – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

And Queen Camilla even got involved!

Nicola claimed that Kate quizzed her eldest son George on the aircrafts flying overhead.

The Princess of Wales reportedly asked: “What is this, George?” to which George replied: “Errr that’s erm a… [he is looking and thinking] I can’t see it yet.”

Then, little Prince Louis insisted it was his turn.

George then asked dad William: “When should they start, Papa?”

According to Nicola, William replied: “It’ll start in a second.”

George then pointed and said that an incoming aircraft was the Atlas. William then leaned over to Camilla and let her know which plane was flying.

Are we playing this still? I need to try harder.

He reportedly added: “That’s the Poseidon, they are the air fighters.”

And it seemed the guessing game continued as William told Camilla: “It’s the wrong answer.”

Camilla apparently told him: “Are we playing this still? I need to try harder.”

Prince Louis’ funny moments at VE Day events

May 5 was a big day for the royal family as senior members of the monarchy stepped out to mark VE Day – which falls on May 8 each year.

But it was Prince Louis who stole the show at the events – for multiple reasons of course!

He was seen hilariously mimicking his older brother George with a hair flick, leaving royal fans in hysterics.

Louis was also seen wiping dad William’s shoulder before tugging on a robe attached to his uniform.

It’s certainly not the first time Louis has stolen the show at a big royal event (how can we forget his antics at the platinum jubilee in 2022?!).

Royal fans loved seeing the youngster’s playful behaviour. One person recently gushed on X: “Louis will always be the Prince of Mischief.”
