Meghan Markle fan claims duchess' bath salt recipe left her with 'catastrophic burns' as lawsuit threatened
Experts previously issued a warning on the recipeMeghan Markle could be facing legal action as a fan has claimed her bath salt recipe left her with severe burns.
Meghan’s Netflix show With Love, Meghan gave fans numerous different recipes and tips to try out for themselves. But it seems things went quite wrong for one fan, and they’re now threatening a lawsuit against the duchess.
While the series received mixed reviews from fans, Netflix renewed it for another season. However, things have taken a bad turn for Meghan.

Meghan Markle under fire for bath salt recipe causing ‘catastrophic burns’
Robin Patrick from Maryland decided to try out Meghan’s homemade bath salt recipe, and it didn’t turn out like what she had believed it would.
According to Radar Online, Robin is seeking major compensation after she was allegedly left with “catastrophic burns” which caused “significant pain and cosmetic distress”.
Robin is diabetic and claims that Meghan had a “duty of care” to provide “adequate warnings” to viewers of side effects for those who have the condition.
I began to feel burning and significant discomfort.
While Robin didn’t watch the entire series, she saw the clip of Meghan making the bath salt gift on X, and followed the instructions using ingredients available at home.
Meghan’s recipe featured Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil and lavender oil.
Following the episode, skincare experts did warn the public that the DIY blend may have risks to some people.
Robin decided to test it out for herself, dissolving the mixture into warm water. But soon she felt discomfort and knew something had gone wrong.
Speaking about what happened, Robin said: “Initially I experienced mild tingling without discomfort. However, as the water level rose to cover my legs, I began to feel burning and significant discomfort.”

What happened to Robin?
Robin “immediately” got out of the bathtub and stirred the water to check the mixture. But as she did that, it resulted in “burning sensations” on her hand. She then tried to soothe the burns by adding lotion – but nothing helped.
After having a shower that evening, Robin said she felt “intense burning” and had developed ulcers on the affected areas. And she is still in pain now.
She added: “To date, the burns are still not healed and are quite uncomfortable. The others are just sore to touch. Since the incident I have endured persistent burning, discomfort and the emergence of new blister-like sores and ulcers daily.”
For Robin, these symptoms have “disrupted” her routines and prevent her from taking warm showers and wearing tight clothing. As time progresses, she said she is “deeply concerned” about the risk of infection and sepsis.
It seems Robin wants to be compensated for her burns, but is willing to resolve it “without litigation” if a financial settlement is reached.

Meghan Markle lawyer issues statement
However, should her demands be denied, she intends to launch a lawsuit where she will seek a “minimum” of $75k (£56k) to cover medical expenses and pain experienced. On top of that she is also seeking $10million (£7.5m) from Meghan, Netflix and Archewell Productions for “reckless disregard for public safety and to deter similar conduct in the future”.
A letter to the parties added that the damages requested account for “emotional distress” and potential post-traumatic stress disorder.
However, Meghan’s lawyer, Cameron Stracher, has reportedly hit back with a rebuke, claiming that she should have been aware of the risks of taking the salts.
His letter read: “The use of Epsom salts is contraindicated for individuals with diabetes except on advice of a physician. As your letter recognises, a duty of care requires a ‘foreseeable’ injury. It was not foreseeable that you would disregard the instructions on the Epsom salt packaging in attempting to make and use your own bath salts.
“For this separate reason, there can be no negligence claim against anyone involved in the production or distribution of the series.”
