Duchess Sophie and Princess Kate met with huge applause as they step out for Garter Day
They wowed the crowds with complimentary looks!
Princess Kate and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh were cheered by royal fans as they arrived at Windsor Castle for the annual Garter Day procession and service on Monday (June 16) afternoon.
However, the Princess of Wales and Prince Edward’s wife were not attired in the distinctive ceremonial robes worn by members of the Order of the Garter for the occasion, including by their husbands.
Instead, Kate, 43, and Sophie, 60, stood out in matching outfits that evidenced their strong bond, which has been previously likened to that of sisters.

What Princess Kate and Sophie wore for Garter Day 2025
According to reports, Princess Kate wore an ensemble by designer Self Portrait.
It is believed the cream chiffon midi dress and blazer bodice may be the same combo she wore for May’s VE Day concert.
However, for Garter Day, she accessorised her look with hat by Sean Barrett. Furthermore, it is believed Princess Kate was wearing a pair of vintage pearl earrings.
Sophie, meanwhile, also looked stunning in a pale pink wrap-style dress, also with matching hat. And as they arrived for Monday’s event – with the Order of Garter created nearly 700 years ago by King Edward III – both Kate and Sophie were applauded by impressed, devoted supporters.
In a video shared to X, Sophie and Kate were seen arriving at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle together. Applause and cheers were heard.
