Meghan Markle faced an 'awkward situation' after Kate Winslet announcement
Kate Winslet and Princess Eugenie were guests on another podcast - not Meghan Markle's...Meghan Markle and her latest venture faced an awkward debut after it aired just days following Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend having high-profile guests like Kate Winslet on her own.
The Duchess of Sussex released Confessions of a Female Founder with Lemonada Media on April 8, 2025. Whereas the Duke of Sussex’s ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas launched hers on March 30. The actress dated the royal bachelor for two years, and they split in 2014. Harry later met Meghan in 2016, and they tied the knot two years later.
However, it was Cressida’s guests on the show that could have been awkward for Meghan Markle, considering celebrities like Kate Winslet and Harry’s cousin was invited on the show.

Kate Winslet named as a guest on Cressida Bonas’ podcast before Meghan Markle’s debut
Cressida Bonas announced she was launching her own podcast on March 19, called Lessons From Our Mothers.
She was joined by her half-sister Isabella Branson, and they celebrated motherhood and mothering in ‘all its forms’. It came after she revealed she was pregnant with her second child after using an embryo she had frozen.
Cressida had married property investor Harry Wentworth-Stanley in 2020.
She announced, days before Meghan Markle’s podcast came out, that it’d feature high-profile guests such as Kate Winslet and Mary Berry. But most importantly, it also listed Cressida’s close friend – and Prince Harry’s cousin – Princess Eugenie.
The royal was actually the matchmaker between Cressida and Harry – another awkward moment in the ordeal.
Cressida dropped the podcast bombshell with guests like Kate Winslet a week after Meghan Markle announced her own.

Duchess’ podcast ends after just one series
The royal has put her podcast on pause after only one season.
While speaking on another podcast this week, Aspire with Emma Grede, she explained it’s now on the back burner so she can focus on her lifestyle business As Ever.
Meghan said “that there is so much excitement and desire for another season” of the series but explained she needed to “focus” on her business instead.
Meghan teamed up with Lemonada Media in 2024. It came after her Archetypes podcast with Spotify only ran for one season as well. It appeared to be the end of the working relationship between the music giant and the Sussexes after reports they signed up to a deal worth £20 million.
The show saw the royal talk to other women who founded companies, as Meghan launched her brand As Ever.
Her second podcast managed to hit second place on the Apple charts, but slipped down after two episodes. While her Spotify podcast hovered around 21st place on the rankings, on average.
While she had high-profile guests herself on both series, such as Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton and Serena Williams, Meghan Markle didn’t bag a royal or Kate Winslet. It seems Cressida trumped her on that front.
