Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez take inspiration from Prince William and Princess Kate’s wedding
As the groom of the “wedding of the century,” Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is no stranger to backlash.
Unsurprisingly, his nuptials to former journalist Lauren Sánchez have already caused a ton of controversy.
With a reported cost of $50M and three days of celebrations, Bezos’ wedding extravaganza has been slammed on social media for flaunting enormous wealth.
As well as the environmental impact of flying out countless A-list celebrities – all whilst taking over the city of Venice, Italy.
Lauren Sánchez’s Kate Middleton inspired wedding gown
Those haven’t been the only reasons that eyebrows have been raised…
Some observers have already pointed out the similarities between Sánchez’s opulent Dolce & Gabbana lace dress and Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.
Sánchez’s gown had a very similar silhouette to Kate Middleton’s famous wedding gown, both embroidered with a lot of lace.
In 2011, Kate wore a very similar dress, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, featuring a high-neck, layered lace and a flowing veil.
Now, another similarity has been uncovered.

It seems the billionaire couple and the Prince and Princess of Wales apparently share the same taste in music.
People reportedly confirmed that Ellie Goulding performed at Sánchez and Bezos’ wedding reception.
The lavish reception took place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, on June 27.
In April of 2011, Goulding sang for the Prince and Princess of Wales at their reception.
The more intimate celebration was hosted by King Charles in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace.
The singer sang for couple’s first dance, serenading the newlyweds with her own rendition of “Your Song.”
The romantic song was originally written by Elton John, a close friend of Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana.
Meanwhile, Ellie Goulding, along with a string of other stars, has seen been snapped in Venice during the three day event.
Among the guest-list have been the likes of Sydney Sweeney and Kim Kardashian.
Kris Jenner, Orlando Bloom and Eva Longoria have also been spotted.
Climate change warrior Leonardo DiCaprio has also been photographed amid the festivities. Although, he was seen covering his face with a baseball cap, following the backlash aimed at his attendance.
DiCaprio is the founder of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which reportedly supports 200 projects focusing on biodiversity, ocean and forest conservation as well as other climate change resolutions.
Nevertheless, the actor reportedly flew privately to attend Bezos’ wedding.
His jet was amongst over 90 private jets that were reported to have flown into Venice for the event.
Jets are known to be more polluting per passenger than commercial flights, negatively impacting the environment.
Lauren Sánchez wears similar wedding dress to Lady Kitty Spencer
It seems that Kate and William aren’t the only royals Jeff and Lauren have taken inspiration from.
Elsewhere, eagle-eyed royal observers have also pointed out the similarity between Lady Kitty Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece, Dolce and Gabbana wedding dress.
Lady Kitty Spencer’s dress also flaunted lace, a high neckline and buttons down the front.
The niece of Princess Diana wore her stunning gown during her nuptials to Michael Lewis.
Similarly, the couple wed at Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, Italy, in 2021.
