King Charles shouldn't accept Prince Harry's Invictus Games 'invite', say royal fans
The Duke of Sussex reportedly extended an olive branch to his father...It has been reported Prince Harry plans to invite King Charles and other members of his family to the next Invictus Games but royal fans don’t believe they should accept it.
The next sporting event is set to take place in Birmingham, and with it being so close to home, it could be a chance for the duke to reconcile with his family.
Reports last week claimed email invites for the Invictus Games are being sent to King Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton later this month. If so, it would be an olive branch in an attempt to bridge the gap after a royal feud ripped them apart.

Prince Harry ‘plans to send invite’ to King Charles for the Invictus Games
It comes after the dad-of-two said during a televised interview he wants to reconcile with his father. He revealed his dad is no longer speaking to him after his battle to reinstate security for himself and family while in the UK ended in court.
Harry also claimed he had no idea ‘how long’ King Charles has left to live as he continues his cancer treatment.
However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said the Invictus Games invites from Harry is a ‘direct challenge’ to King Charles.
He told The Express:”He [King Charles] is Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Invictus is a major military charity. Also, as head of state, he is a symbol of national unity. If he accepts, he would be putting duty above what obviously is a painful public rift between him and his family and the Sussexes. It will be argued that that is his job.
“However, it might involve extremely serious problems for the royal family, who rightly do not trust the Sussexes. If the king accepted it, this would involve public contact with Harry and almost certainly Meghan and his grandchildren, Archie and Lili.”

Royal fans think it isn’t enough
However, in a poll on Royal Insider, fans have determined that King Charles should snub the invite to the Invictus Games.
When asked if it would be the perfect change for a reconciliation, more fans opted for the monarch to turn the opportunity down after “everything that’s happened” amid the royal feud.
30 per cent of respondents thought it could be a good idea to mend the rift, whereas more than 69% hope Charles’ ignores the request.
After stepping down from senior working royals, Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California with their son Prince Archie. They later welcomed Princess Lilibet in 2021 and have carved out their own life in Montecito.
Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 where they made allegations over how they were treated while in the royal family. They also spoke about the hardships of being a part of The Firm in their Netflix docuseries which was released in December 2022.
A month later, the Duke of Sussex published his memoir Spare. He made more allegations of arguments between himself and his brother Prince William as well as rows involving Meghan and Princess Kate Middleton.
The royal family have not responded to claims from their Netflix series or Harry’s book.
