Chrissy Teigen's friendship with Meghan Markle - TV job together to reuniting on With Love, Meghan
Meghan also supported Chrissy through a personal tragedyChrissy Teigen will feature in the second season of Meghan Markle‘s Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan – but how close are the pair?
Model and TV personality Chrissy, 39, will join the Duchess of Sussex, 44, in the kitchen in the upcoming series, set to premiere on the streaming giant on August 26. A first look trailer was released on August 12, featuring Chrissy and some of Meghan’s other guests.
But how did Chrissy and Meghan meet? And why does Chrissy choose not to spill many details on her first TV job with the duchess… let’s take a look!

Chrissy Teigen’s Deal or No Deal appearance alongside Meghan Markle
Did you know that both Chrissy and Meghan appeared on Deal or No Deal?
Before her starring role in legal drama Suits, former actress Meghan was a “briefcase girl” on 34 episodes of the US version of the game show, Deal or No Deal, between 2006 and 2007.
The role saw Meghan stand by briefcase number 24 during the episodes.
Now everyone asks me what she was like and I say, ‘Sorry, no dirt. She’s gorgeous.’
Meanwhile, Chrissy, who is married to singer John Legend, appeared in eight episodes of the show from 2007 to 2008.
Chrissy and Meghan then reunited in 2014, when they competed together in DirecTV’s Beach Bowl game.
Years later, in 2018, Chrissy opened up about the duchess just months after Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry. She also revealed the reason why she doesn’t spill the tea on her former co-star.

‘Sorry, no dirt. She’s gorgeous’
Speaking to the Daily Mail at the time, Chrissy said: “I am especially a fan of Meghan. I was on Deal or No Deal with her and she was lovely.
“Now everyone asks me what she was like and I say, ‘Sorry, no dirt. She’s gorgeous.'”
Chrissy’s gushing words didn’t end there. She went on to say she loves “the freshness” Meghan brings. She also praised the duchess’ Together cookbook.
The book showcased recipes from women whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy, which happened in 2017.
A high-rise fire broke out in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block of flats in London, tragically killing 72 of residents.
Chrissy praised Meghan’s “beautifully done” book, adding: “You can tell how important it is to her. You see how she interacts with people and gets down to eye level with kids.”

Meghan’s gesture to Chrissy following the loss of her baby son
In 2021, Chrissy opened up about Meghan’s touching gesture to her following the heartbreaking loss of her baby son, Jack.
In 2020, Chrissy revealed that she had lost her baby at 20 weeks. That same year, Meghan had publicly revealed that she had experienced a miscarriage and shared her “almost unbearable grief”.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen months later, Chrissy was asked whether she and Meghan had had a chance to connect now that the duchess lives in California.
Chrissy said: “She had written me about baby Jack and loss. She is really wonderful, and so kind—just as kind as everyone says she is.
“That’s why you look at everything and you’re like: ‘My God, what is absolutely wrong with people that they have to make this person out to be so malicious or so crazy?’ When it’s just as simple as them being as kind as everybody says they are.”
She was also asked by Andy about Meghan and Harry’s 2021 controversial tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they detailed their time within the monarchy.
Chrissy said: “When I ended up watching it, it was like holy [bleep] this is big. But I had also, like, I waited a long time to watch it, and so I’d already heard so much about it by the time that I got to it. But yeah, it is very eye-opening.
“I think, honestly, her truth has been her truth since the very beginning.”

Chrissy features in With Love, Meghan season two
Since then, Chrissy has remained supportive of Meghan. In 2024, she gushed over Meghan’s jam spread. At the time, Meghan’s brand was called American Riviera Orchard. Now, as we know, it’s changed to As Ever.
In a video on Instagram, Chrissy held up the jam and smiled. She wrote in the caption: “We jammin!! This might have been one of the best bites we’ve had all year – all we used is some rustic bread, salted butter, triple cream brie, thick cut bacon, and some @americanrivieraorchard jam! Took about 8 mins total and made us happy for the entire weekend.”
