It was the week for huge announcements. Meghan Markle surprised fans by releasing the trailer for With Love, Meghan season two. But that wasn’t the only announcement that got the internet talking last week. Singer Taylor Swift also announced her 12th album.
Both women made their big announcements on the exact same day. And it was reported that it actually left Meghan quite annoyed. But now, her representatives have denied this.
Meghan Markle and Taylor Swift made huge announcements on the same day
On August 12, both Meghan, 43, and Taylor, 35, announced their next projects.
While With Love, Meghan season two was already announced before this day, Meghan dropped the first trailer, teasing fans with what to expect.
This was very different to Taylor, as nobody really knew that she was working on a new album. But she made a shock appearance on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s podcast, to announce her next album.
Reports Meghan Markle was ‘fuming’ over Taylor Swift announcement are ‘untrue’
When any huge celebrity makes an unexpected announcement, the internet worldwide starts talking. And since last week, quite a lot of people have been talking about Taylor’s new album, The Life Of A Showgirl.
But according to reports, Meghan thought she had picked a day that would get people talking.
According to RadarOnline, sources apparently claimed that the duchess was left “fuming” over Taylor’s announcement.
Meghan isn’t even on Taylor’s radar, or in her orbit.
They reportedly said: “Meghan thought the trailer would own global headlines. Instead, all anyone talked about that day was Taylor’s new music. Meghan genuinely thinks Taylor hijacked her announcement – but she wouldn’t have known, or cared about it.”
Another insider agreed, adding: “Meghan isn’t even on Taylor’s radar, or in her orbit. She’s a deluded no-mark desperate to be a celeb like Taylor.”
However, Royal Insider contacted Meghan’s representatives and they denied all of the reports.
It seems there is no truth in the matter. Her reps told us the reports were “categorically untrue”.
Is Taylor Swift friends with the royal family?
While Meghan and Taylor have never actually been seen together, both would have been in Hollywood at the same time. And so it wouldn’t be surprising if their paths crossed at some point.
However, Taylor’s path has definitely crossed with other members of the royal family during her Eras Tour.
Prince William brought his kids, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, to see the singer in concert at Wembley Stadium in London last year. And the prince was spotted dancing very enthusiastically to her songs.
After the show the three royals even headed backstage to meet Taylor, and even ended up on her personal Instagram page!

With Love, Meghan season two will premiere on Netflix on August 26. Meanwhile, Taylor’s album The Life Of A Showgirl will be released on October 3.
