Donald and Melania Trump seem pretty fond of Princess Kate, 43.

On Wednesday afternoon, the first lady, 55, eagerly chatted to Kate as they engaged in a conversation at Windsor Castle.

On Wednesday night, when the Trumps and the royals gathered for a lavish banquet to mark the president’s second UK state visit, Trump had his own special words to share with Kate.

President Trump delivered his speech after the king’s message, and before the 160 guests began their four-course meal.

He praised the “singular privilege to be the first American President welcomed here” on a second visit. He then sparked laughter as he quipped: “That’s the first and maybe that’s going to be the last time. I hope it is actually.”

Donald Trump’s kind words about Prince William

Trump praised King Charles’ son, Prince William, dubbing him as “remarkable” and shared his hopes for the future king’s “unbelievable success in the future”.

He added: “Melania and I are delighted to visit with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine.”

Notably, Trump didn’t mention Charles’ younger son Prince Harry.

President Trump then went on to share some glowing praise for Kate.

He described the princess as: “So radiant and so healthy and so beautiful.”

It seems Princess Kate appeared just as pleased to see Donald Trump as the pair, who sat next to each other, shared a fond smile which was caught on camera.

The image has appeared on social media and unsurprisingly, royal observers have chimed in with their thoughts.

One commented: “This has absolutely cracked me up. What a fantastic photo. It’s great to see her REALLY enjoying herself and you can tell she’s very amused… he’s in his element with a beautiful princess next to him! Imagine the convo!”

“They both look genuinely happy. It’s beautiful,” penned another.

“It’s a lovely moment, his face and hers say it all,” praised a third.

Another mused: “I reckon, it would have been interesting, to have been a fly on those walls!”

“It’s genuine, you can’t fake that,” stated a fifth, whilst a sixth social media user added: “Catherine truly looks happy there, no fake performance.”

Kate ‘genuinely interested’ in Trump conversation

Meanwhile, body language expert Darren Stanton analysed the moment on behalf of Betfair Casino.

He said: “Trump and Kate, we see their body language totally reciprocated. Kate is tilting her head which means she is genuinely interested in what he’s saying.

“It shows deep, active listening, which a lot of people don’t do. Trump is reciprocating this gesture back, so he’s authentic in his comments about being honored to be one of the very few Presidents who’ve been invited for a second state visit.”
