Prince William says he's 'pleased to continue the work' of his father King Charles in new speech
The prince visited Wales todayPrince William has said that he is “pleased” to be continuing the work of his father, King Charles, in a new speech.
The Prince of Wales made the comment during an appearance at the Wales Investment Summit in Newport earlier today (December 1).
During the address, he also sweetly reminisced about his time living on Anglesey with his wife, the Princess of Wales.

Prince William conducts engagements in Wales
Prince William began his week with a visit to a newly-opened facility of international semiconductor company KLA in Newport, South Wales.
Following a tour of the site, the royal then delivered a keynote speech focused on promoting business investment in Wales.
“Prynhawn da,” he began by wishing the audience of around 300 ‘good afternoon’ in Welsh. “Thank you for joining us today for the Wales Investment Summit.”
Between 2010 and 2013, William and Kate lived together on the tranquil island of Anglesey in North Wales. At the time, Prince William was stationed at RAF Valley as a search and rescue helicopter pilot, so the couple rented a farmhouse on the Bodorgan Estate. It is clearly a time in his life the Prince of Wales feels nostalgic for.
When you make a home in Wales, you join a family of three million people.
“Wales was the first place Catherine and I made our home together, on the island of Anglesey,” Prince William recalled fondly. “When you make a home in Wales, you join a family of three million people. The sense of warmth and belonging is what makes Wales unlike anywhere else.”

‘I am pleased to be continuing the work of my father’
Turning to business matters, Prince William then continued: “I am pleased to be continuing the work of my father the king, who, over half a century ago, personally encouraged the co-founder of Sony to open its first European factory here in Wales.”
“That decision wasn’t simply an investment,” he went on. “It was an act of faith in the ingenuity and spirit of this nation. The legacy of that decision is still felt today, having brought thousands of jobs and opportunities to local people over the past fifty years.
“His leadership in championing Welsh business and innovation is something that I am proud to have the opportunity to continue.”
