Meghan Markle says she is beginning 2026 at a 'gentler pace' after whirlwind year
2025 was a big year for the duchess, as she launched her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan
After a year that saw a return to social media, the launch of a lifestyle brand, and the debut of a Netflix series, Meghan Markle has revealed that she is choosing to begin 2026 with calm and intention.
In a new newsletter for her brand As Ever, shared with subscribers shortly after the holidays, the Duchess of Sussex reflected on the importance of slowing down.
It marks a notable shift in tone from the start of 2025, when Meghan burst back into the spotlight with a new Instagram page.

Meghan Markle reveals 2026 resolutions
The duchess encouraged readers to take time for what she calls “moments that matter”. She described this more mindful start as “its own kind of resolution”.
“With the rush of the holiday season behind us, we look ahead with an intention to begin the new year at a gentler pace,” Meghan began.
“Making space for moments that matter – shared over a cup of tea, by candlelight, or simply taking a pause when the day allows. A reminder that how you start matters, and that easing in can be its own kind of resolution.”
Her message was accompanied by curated links to her As Ever product range.
The idea of beginning the year with intention is nothing new for Meghan. Back in 2016, while running her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, she shared a candid list of her own perennial New Year resolutions. “Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year,” she wrote.
She admitted the swearing crept in during periods of stress or after “a couple drinks”. Meanwhile, nail-biting tended to happen on turbulent flights or especially overwhelming days.
“It’s unladylike,” she joked. “But then again, so is the swearing.”
Just six months after posting that blog, Meghan would meet her future husband, Prince Harry, on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Christmas
Meghan’s gentle tone for 2026 followed a cosy family holiday with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet, at their Montecito home.
In a Christmas Day message to subscribers, Meghan shared a glimpse into their festive traditions.
She said: “Last night, I was nibbling the remnants of our Christmas Eve feast (dim sum this year), wrapping a few last-minute gifts, and tiptoeing down the stairs with my husband to make sure ‘Santa’ had enjoyed his cookies and ‘the reindeer’ had eaten their carrots.”
She added that the family planned to spend Christmas Day in pyjamas, playing board games and listening to music.
Although Meghan hasn’t announced any major plans for the months ahead, her quiet start to 2026 contrasts with the high-energy rollout that defined early 2025.
At the start of last year, she returned to Instagram with a reel of herself on the beach.
Her final post of 2025 came on December 22, when she shared a playlist of her favourite holiday songs and wished followers a Merry Christmas.
