Last week, a new tranche of Epstein Files were released by the US Department of Justice and in them, a series of emails believed to be sent by Sarah Ferguson to Jeffrey Epstein appear to show their ongoing friendship – despite the former duchess claiming to have cut the disgraced financier and sex offender off.

Although Sarah Ferguson and her team are yet to confirm the origin or context of these emails, speculation is swirling. And the spotlight has shone on Sarah again, with renewed scrutiny as observers are exposed to her “appalling judge of character”.

Sarah Ferguson’s ‘appalling judge of character exposed’

Last Friday, three million files relating to late convicted sex offender Epstein and his crimes were released by the US Department of Justice.

Within the files, images appearing to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor kneeling on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the ground were released. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.

Sarah Ferguson was also allegedly named in the latest batch of files.

Over the years, Ferguson has faced much scrutiny regarding her connection with Epstein.

Sarah Ferguson named in latest Epstein Files

Last September, an email from 2011 revealed that she called Epstein a “supreme friend”.

Ferguson’s email was reportedly sent just weeks after she publicly vowed to cut ties with him.

A spokesperson for the former duchess said at the time that the email was sent under duress. They said: “Like many people, she was taken in by his lies.”

They also stated: “This email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”

Sarah Ferguson’s alleged emails in Epstein Files

Now, the latest emails appear to show Sarah describing Epstein as being like a “brother to her”. She event reportedly gushed: “Just marry me,” in one email.

In another, Sarah allegedly told Epstein how proud of him she was.

As eloquently articulated by The Spectator’s Alexander Larman: “Epstein was a poorly chosen friend. Fergie wrote saccharine missives, apparently revealing that the sex offender had a child with one of the innumerable women he consorted with. But nevertheless, she was sufficiently self-aware to write in 2011 that: ‘It was sooooo crystal clear to me that you were only friends with me to get to Andrew. And that really hurt me deeeply. More than you will know.'”

Larman also dubbed Sarah Ferguson’s alleged emails as showcasing that she was “variously greedy” and “an appalling judge of character”.

What the latest tranche of Epstein Files shows us about Sarah Ferguson

To gain more clarity on what the renewed scrutiny has really told us about Sarah Ferguson, we spoke to Royal Expert Richard Fitzwilliams, who chimed in on the topic.

“Sarah Ferguson should never have joined the royal family. Originally famously thought ‘a breath of fresh air,’ it became obvious that It’s a Royal Knockout gave us a glimpse of someone who was distinctly unroyal.”

“She did do a large amount for charity. However she knew perfectly well that Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted paedophile, but he did have money. Reportedly around a billion dollars. The emails between them have been most instructive. He could, apparently,  help with her rent. He could advise on her business ventures. What is so despicable about her messages to him is the way that she grovels,” Fitzwilliams stated.

Ferguson’s link to Epstein ‘painfully’ obvious

He went on to say: “It has been painfully obvious for years that he paid her far in excess of the £15000, which  led to her public apology and the lie that she would not contact him again.

“According to a leaked email from Epstein, he bankrolled her for 15 years. That sounds more like the truth to me. It transpires, according to emails, that she took her daughters to visit him in Florida, five days after his release, he having been convicted for child sex trafficking and when he was still under house arrest.

Sarah Ferguson’s ‘grossly irresponsible’ move

“This was grossly irresponsible. They obviously should not have gone. Beatrice was 20 and Eugenie 19. But taking them to see him was presumably part of the act to flatter him, as she and Andrew used invitations to royal palaces and homes and to milestone birthday parties to keep Epstein within their orbit.

“It is possible she might seek a comeback of some sort but her charity has shut its doors and the charities attached to her have done likewise. It seems an impossibility. At least at the moment.”

Fergie’s alleged emails
