King Charles was heckled again on Monday as he stepped out amid the ongoing scrutiny surrounding his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The king, 77, visited Clitheroe, Lancashire, on Monday morning where he greeted well-wishers who had gathered.

However, it wasn’t long before King Charles faced an outburst from the crowd over the Andrew scandal which is dominating headlines at the moment.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor scandal

Last week, the king was heckled with questions over Andrew as he visited the Essex village of Dedham for a high street walkabout.

Andrew’s association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has sparked scrutiny for years. Last October, the palace announced that Andrew’s remaining royal titles and honours were being removed amid growing scrutiny against him.

It also came as his accuser Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir was released in October 2025. Ms Giuffre alleged she was made to sleep with Andrew on three separate occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.

Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations against him.

More Epstein files released

Scrutiny against Andrew intensified recently following the release of more than three million files relating to Epstein and his crimes on January 30.

Within these files, images appeared to show Andrew kneeling on all fours over an unidentified female lying on the ground. No context has been supplied for the images. It’s also unclear when and where they were taken.

How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?

Since then, a second woman came forward with an allegation about the former prince. The woman, who is not British and was in her 20s at the time, alleged she was sent to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew at Royal Lodge in 2010.

Thames Valley Police confirmed it’s assessing the allegations.

Andrew has not addressed the allegations. Royal Insider contacted representatives for Andrew for comment.

Andrew has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Being named or pictured among the Epstein files is not an indication of wrongdoing.

King Charles heckled over Andrew

On Monday, as the king stepped out for royal engagements, he was met with questions over Andrew.

In a video obtained by The Sun, as King Charles greeted some members of the public, one person shouted out from the crowd: “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?”

The question wasn’t acknowledged by the king, who continued with his greetings.

However, many in the crowd booed and some were heard telling the person to “shut up” after the question was asked.

It comes after the Prince and Princess of Wales broke their silence on the Epstein scandal today.

Ahead of Prince William’s arrival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Kensington Palace issued a statement on his and Kate’s behalf.

A spokesperson for the couple told reporters in the capital ahead of William’s visit that “the Prince and Princess of Wales have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims”.
