Worrying prediction made over 'vulnerable' royal family amid Andrew and Epstein scandal
Buckingham Palace has issued a new statement on the scandalUS Congressman Ro Khanna has shared his thoughts on the royal family amid the scandal surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his links to Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew’s association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has sparked scrutiny for years. That scrutiny intensified last month following the release of more than three million files relating to Epstein and his crimes.
Within these files, images appeared to show Andrew kneeling on all fours over an unidentified female lying on the ground. No context has been supplied for the images. It’s also unclear when and where they were taken.
For years, Andrew has also faced allegations of sexual assault by the late Virginia Giuffre. She alleged that she was made to sleep with the former prince on three separate occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.
Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations.
Scandal surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor
Following the recent release of more Epstein files in January, a second woman came forward with allegations against Andrew.
The woman alleged she was sent to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew at Royal Lodge in 2010. The woman is not British and was in her 20s at the time.
Royal Insider contacted representatives for Andrew for comment. He hasn’t addressed the allegations.
This week, Buckingham Palace issued a new statement amid growing scrutiny. It detailed King Charles’ stance on the scandal.
It read: “The king has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct.
“While the specific claims in question are for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police we stand ready to support them as you would expect.
“As was previously stated, Their Majesties’ thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain with, the victims of any and all forms of abuse.”
US Congressman speaks out on royal family amid Andrew and Epstein scandal
Speaking to Sky News, Mr Khanna said he believes the royal family is in a “vulnerable” position.
He said: “I think this is the most vulnerable the British monarchy has ever been. They ought to ask the king and queen questions and maybe this will be the end of the monarchy.”
Mr Khanna added: “If they don’t have answers, if they’re implicated in the Epstein class, it’s not a good look for the British monarchy. The king has to answer what he knew, what he knew about Andrew, and just stripping Andrew of a title is not enough.
‘Andrew needs to come before our committee’
“Andrew needs to come before our committee and start answering questions. I don’t think the appropriate punishment is you no longer get to be a prince. There’s got to be more than that.”
The Democrat was behind the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the legislation that led to their publication.

Andrew has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Being named or pictured among the Epstein files is not an indication of wrongdoing.
There has also been no suggestion the wider royal family was involved with Epstein.
Last October, King Charles initiated a formal process to have Andrew’s remaining royal titles and honours removed. Andrew was also ordered to leave his sprawling Windsor property, Royal Lodge.
He has now moved to a smaller property on the king’s Sandringham Estate.
