Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on his birthday yesterday, February 19, as police issued a statement.

Police were spotted at a property on the Sandringham Estate on Thursday morning. Andrew is currently residing on the estate following his exit from Windsor’s Royal Lodge.

The disgraced prince was taken into custody yesterday. He was not released until yesterday evening.

Upon his return home, a very unflattering snap of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was taken.

On Thursday morning, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The specific details of the allegations of misconduct being investigated are unknown and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s are yet to comment.

Yesterday evening, Andrew was released from police custody.

As per reports, Andrew was photographed as a vehicle picked him up from Aylsham police investigation centre.

He left at just before 19:00.

A photographer was able to photograph the disgraced prince.

Seen here, Andrew could be seen wide-eyed, as he attempted to lean back on the backseat of the black Range Rover.

His collar appeared to be upturned and he sported a dazed expression of shock on his features.

Following the release of the image, many observers have chimed in. With one commentator even expressing their concern.

“Caught and scared,” one X user stated, describing the image of a shell-shocked Andrew.

“He knows the walls are closing in,” chimed in another.

“Not exactly the face of someone at ease,” read the caption of a repost of the image on Instagram.

A fourth penned: “Sweating today?”

“Whoever took this photo is laughing all the way to the bank…..or the Maldives,” joked another.

Another observer quipped on social media following the arrest: “I hope it’s on 24 hours in police custody.”

Another joked: “Next series of The Crown should be good.”

Former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth II chimes in

Elsewhere, former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth II Ailsa Anderson has reacted to the image.

“He looked dazed, he looked shell-shocked, he was slouching down,” she told BBC News.

She said Andrew’s expression in the image reflected his “extraordinary fall from grace”.

Anderson also said to scandal has likely left the royals feeling “bruised” and “shattered”.

Thames Valley Police share statement

Meanwhile, Thames Valley Police said yesterday evening: “Thames Valley Police is able to provide an update in relation to an investigation into the offence of misconduct in public office.

“On Thursday we arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

“The arrested man has now been released under investigation. We can also confirm that our searches in Norfolk have now concluded.”

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Epstein Files latest

On January 30, more than three million files relating to Epstein and his crimes were released by the US Department of Justice.

Since then, renewed scrutiny has plagued the disgraced prince.

Especially as alleged emails between him and Epstein, as well as bizarre images, appeared within the latest tranche of files.

The images, which have now been widely circulated, appeared to show Andrew kneeling on all fours over an unidentified female lying on the ground.

No context has been supplied for the images. It’s also unclear when and where they were taken. Andrew’s team are yet to comment.

Representatives for the former prince have been contacted again.

Being named or pictured in the Epstein files doesn’t indicate any wrongdoing. However, the new alleged connections between Andrew and Epstein has sparked further scrutiny.
