Princess Kate Middleton visited the city’s Shreeji Dham Haveli Hindu Temple and slipped off her high heels as a sign of respect upon entering the religious building.
A smiling Princess Kate joined a women-only group performing a traditional garba dance in front of a statue of the Hindu deity Lord Krishna after being garlanded with flowers.
The Princess of Wales also had a bindi pressed between her eyes.

Kate even had a go at joining in with the dance circle, dancing the garba, which is performed in a circle with the women repeatedly turning to face the left, then right, in a rotating pattern, round and round.
Princess Kate went without her beloved Gianvito Rossi, brown suede heels, in a respectful move.
It could be seen that Kate was wearing nude tights with her simple, cream ensemble, made up of a blazer and long, pleated skirt.

She is said to have replied: “Oh, go on then.”

The Princess of Wales’s visit ‘meant a lot’
Mr Kachela said that Kate getting stuck in was “absolutely amazing”.
“This visit means a lot. There’s not just one faith, one religion out there; there are many faiths and religions. It means a lot to have somebody of such importance and significance actually come in and try and understand, and try to acknowledge what we’re doing here.”
When Princess Kate first arrived at the Temple, she reportedly said to Mr Kachela: “Thank you very much for having me, I feel very lucky to be invited”.
Kate also made an offering to Krishna. She offered a small dose of milk, before strolling around a large and symbolic model of a mountain.
