Meghan Markle friend Abigail Spencer taken aback over duchess’ remark in Netflix show: ‘I’m sorry you’re what?’

When Meghan Markle announced her Netflix show, With Love Meghan, she also revealed a number of celebrity guests that would appear alongside her, one of which was her close friend and Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
But it seems even Abigail can still be surprised by Meghan, as she has revealed she was taken aback by a request that was made during the filming of the show.
Meghan Markle remark left Abigail Spencer confused
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Abigail revealed she was baffled when Meghan told her they were going to be salt-baking a fish.
She said: “It was so funny when she told me she was going to teach me how to cook fish. ‘I’m sorry, you’re what?’ I didn’t know where anything was in that kitchen.”
With Love Meghan wasn’t filmed in Meghan and Prince Harry’s actual home, instead they used a different location. Meghan rented a farmhouse that is reportedly worth £5million ($8m). So, for Abigail it was completely different than what she was used to.
Abigail continued: “I felt I was just doggy paddling and she was doing butterfly kicks! Meghan is about to win a gold medal and I’m doggy paddling above the surface.”
In Abigail’s episode, she is also joined by their friend Kelly McKee Zajfen. But their lack of cooking knowledge was very apparent to Meghan.

Speaking to the camera during the episode, the 43-year-old duchess admitted: “Kelly is a great cook. Abby has other strengths.” And it was this moment that made Abigail erupt in laughter when watching.
She explained: “I really was dying laughing because she said, ‘Kelly and Abigail are coming over. You know, Kelly is such a good cook , and Abby’s got other strengths’. And it’s so true.”
While Meghan Markle and Abigail Spencer worked together on US legal drama Suits, they actually met a long time before that. And it seems despite Meghan not being in touch with the rest of the cast, they have remained close.
The pair initially met in 2007, when they were both at an audition, and immediately became friends. Then, Abigail was one of the few that got to sit up close at Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

However, Abigail Spencer wasn’t the only one who found herself being mocked over her cooking skills, as some of Meghan Markle’s own decisions created a spectacle.
US talk show host Jimmy Fallon poked fun at the former working royal over her surprising habit in the Netflix show – when she showed viewers how to transfer pretzels from one bag to another.
In the episode, Meghan told viewers that sometimes it is easier to buy shop favourites, rather than making them from scratch. She then proceeded to demonstrate how to swap shop bought pretzels into another plastic bag and add some ribbon.
But it left many unimpressed, opening her up for online mocking. During The Tonight Show on Monday, Jimmy was answering questions for their Trivia Night segment.
When he was asked, “what is the number one question that mystifies scientists?”, Jimmy guessed incorrectly.
He was then informed it was: “Why does Meghan Markle make her own pretzel bags? They don’t know why.”
Jimmy joined in on the joke, adding: “That’s interesting. She takes it from one bag and puts it in another bag. That confuses people.”
Despite the mocking and negative reviews, With Love, Meghan has been renewed for a season two.
