Princess Kate opens up about home with Prince William
Kate Middleton and Prince William largely keep their private life… private. However, Princess Kate recently shed light on why she and her family decided to move from their London home to Windsor, Berkshire.
The couple and their three young children famously live at Adelaide Cottage, a stunning four-bedroom home on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Their idyllic abode appears to be the perfect spot for their family. So much so, it is hard to imagine they called anywhere else home. However, they’ve only actually lived at Adelaide Cottage for less than three years.
Prince William and Kate moved out of Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace in 2022. This sparked plenty of speculation at the time as to why they had made the move. Just days ago, Princess Kate alluded to the reason.
As per People, Princess Kate was said to have opened up about the topic whilst attending the Irish Guards’ parade at Wellington Barracks this week as the regiment’s Colonel, in celebration of St Patrick’s Day.
The future queen then spent time with the guards and their families and was reportedly asked about where she and her family lived.
It was here that Kate explained her living situation.

Where does Kate Middleton live?
She reportedly said: “We are in Windsor at the moment. We were in London but moved there for more green space. It’s close enough to London, not too far away.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales lived at Kensington Palace between 2017 and 2022.
When it was later confirmed that they were moving, Prince George was nine, Princess Charlotte seven and Prince Louis was four.
We were in London but moved there for more green space.
A source suggested to The Times at the time that the children were restricted whilst living in the capital.

“The reality is they are quite confined in what they can do in London,” a source reportedly said.
“The kids can’t go into the park and kick a football with friends. Their plan is to be [in Windsor] for the next ten to 15 years and then move to Anmer, which is so special to them.”
It is no surprise that the family favour living in a green space, with William and Kate both being lovers of the outdoors and their children enjoying sports.
William and Kate are also keen to shield their children, allowing them a degree of normalcy despite having a far than ordinary family.
