Meghan Markle making a cut on her ShopMy closet is 'not what Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth stood for'

ShopMy is the latest business venture for Meghan

As Meghan Markle announces her ShopMy closet, she has faced fresh backlash claiming this “is not what the royal family stand for”.

On Monday (March 24) Meghan announced her now ShopMy website on her Instagram, which linked her favourite fashion pieces. And in a disclaimer at the top, it says she may earn a commission.

The ShopMy website is Meghan’s latest move in a string of business ventures over the past few months. It’s been a busy time for the Duchess of Sussex lately as she has had the launch of her Netflix show – which is already renewed for a season two. Not long after that she also announced her new brand, As Ever, before her upcoming podcast.

Meghan Markle ShopMy backlash

Now, by creating a ShopMy website, fans of Meghan will be able to actually purchase items that she herself uses. But there has been quite some backlash over the fact she is earning money from it.

Yesterday (March 26) Talk TV’s Kevin O’Sullivan was joined by Kinsey Schofield to discuss the latest business venture. And they were not impressed.

Kevin blasted Meghan for “making a cut” of the profits from her ShopMy, and admitted he doesn’t think she “needs” Prince Harry much longer.

He said: “Harry’s usefulness to Meghan diminishes daily. She doesn’t need him anymore. She is exactly where she wanted to be. World famous. She is cashing in on the world fame and now she believes she can be a billionaire.”

Kinsey agreed that Meghan will possibly “continue to phase Harry out” publicly, but that privately she still needs “a babysitter”.

She slammed: “Meghan wants to be recognised as a female entrepreneur. But she has reached it because of the man she married. And she doesn’t want that to be what is in the history books.

“She is trying to change the narrative through her business ventures like her new podcast.”

Latest venture ‘goes against’ the royal family

The pair did credit the duchess for actually “working” but claimed that she is doing the exact opposite than what anyone associated with the royal family should be doing – because she is earning commission.

Kinsey declared Meghan the “antagonist” from Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II. And that Meghan is no longer “driven by vengeance” but instead is “fuelled by greed”.

Kevin blasted: “She is still loosely a member of the royal family. This isn’t what royals stand for or do. It’s extremely tacky and not nice to see.”

According to Kinsey a part of Harry and Meghan’s exit from the royal family was that they agreed to not earn profits from their name, and her ShopMy contradicts that.

She said: “It’s conflicting with the Megxit agreement. They agreed to not monetise their name. And now you can buy lipgloss on her website. It is so vile.”

Kevin believed that Meghan thought she would be on her path to having a billionaire status when she married Prince Harry, but then she found out that William and Kate had more of a say than they did.

Meghan set to ‘earn millions’

The latest slams against Meghan comes as it was reported she could be set to earn millions thanks to her ShopMy.

Money and business coach Maddy Alexander-Grout told MailOnline that she could “potentially earn millions from this and is probably earning a commission on every sale she makes”.

Based on Meghan’s Instagram following, Mandy predicted that there will be thousands of people buying items from the website.

“If she gets 15 percent off a shirt that is £128, she will be making £19.20. She will be selling thousands of those and could be making at least £19K from one linen shirt.”
