Why Prince William’s attempts to visit Ukraine were ‘firmly rejected’ as royal ‘rankled' over Harry’s surprise trip
Prince William isn't happy... apparently
Fresh reports claim Prince William isn’t very pleased with Prince Harry’s recent trip to Ukraine.
The Duke of Sussex visited wounded soldiers in the Ukrainian city of Lviv last Thursday. The trip came as a surprise to all and has reportedly left the Prince of Wales frustrated.

Prince William ‘reacts’ to Prince Harry’s Ukraine trip
The Daily Mail claims Prince William is even more displeased with his younger brother. Undoubtedly, deepening their ever-growing rift.
The brothers are famously on frosty terms. Reports continue to claim that the pair are failing to see eye-to-eye. Some even state they are not on talking terms and have been distant ever since Prince Harry stepped away from The Firm.
Now, the Prince of Wales is said to be “rankled” by Harry’s recent antics.
Palace sources allegedly pointed out William’s “long-hoped” keenness to visit war-torn Ukraine. Something that he has been warded off doing.
Since Harry’s appearance in Lviv, William is said to be “rankled”.
He is even said to have voiced his frustration to Kensington Palace staff, who urged him against the visit.
Meanwhile, William recently travelled to Paris to watch his football club Aston Villa play Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
It has been a jet-setting time for the royals of late, with Prince Harry visiting the UK to face the High Court in London over an appeal regarding his security whilst on British soil. Elsewhere, the king and queen enjoyed a four-day state visit to Italy.

Prince William’s trip to Estonia
However, Harry’s visit of the fraught conditions in Ukraine have certainly ruffled feathers.
Most likely due to his motives whilst appealing the High Court’s ruling regarding his security protection – or lack thereof – just a day before.
Prince William is said to have previously expressed interest in visiting Ukraine. It was a proposition that was reportedly “firmly rejected” by security officials.
Just last month, the prince visited Estonia.
It was here he was seen dressed in combat gear and a beret as he clambered into a British tank at a Nato base in Estonia, 90 miles from Russia.
His visit was an obvious display of support for the British troops on the frontline in Estonia.
A post to the Prince of Wales’ social media described his initial welcome to the country, stating: “An excellent first day in Estonia, experiencing the warmth and hospitality of this beautiful country.”
A royal aide claimed the prince was delighted to be “getting his hands dirty” amid his trip.
They also explained that the trip was “about the Prince of Wales showing his support to Estonia as it manages its proximity to Russia while hosting NATO troops and welcoming Ukrainian refuges”.
Despite William’s visit, advice shared with the prince allegedly warned that visiting Ukraine would be “too dangerous”. Thus, explaining his inability to do so.
Why was Prince Harry in Ukraine?
It seems, however, this didn’t stop Harry. Consequently, his move has raised questions about his recent High Court appeal.
It even left Harry facing the wrath of Piers Morgan who dubbed him “dumb as a rock” for his visit.
Currently, Harry’s security whilst in the UK is decided on a case-by-case basis. He is appealing this decision and has insisted the safety of his family is at the heart of the case.
After attending the hearing in London last week, he flew to Ukraine unannounced, where he visited the Superhumans Center, an orthopaedic clinic in Lviv, which treats and rehabilitates wounded army personnel and civilians amid the ongoing war.
Reaction to Prince Harry’s trip to Ukraine
Although his visit was described as “mind-blowing,” by the co-founder of the Superhumans Center, others have dubbed it as dangerous.
Taking to X, Piers Morgan fumed over Harry’s visit to Lviv: “So, Hypocrite Harry flies straight from a British court where he is suing for more protection in UK because it’s too dangerous for him… o a warzone in Ukraine. He really is as dumb as a rock.”
Royal Insider contacted representatives of Harry for comment at the time.
Meanwhile, amid the hearing, Harry has argued that his young children Archie and Lilibet cannot “feel at home” or “safe” in the UK unless police protection is put in place.
Royal Insider has contacted Kensington Palace and Prince Harry’s representatives for comment.
