Royal fans make same Princess Charlotte joke as palace releases video of King Charles with Taylor Swift song
Has she been 'influencing' her grandfather?
Fans of the royal family and Taylor Swift were in raptures yesterday after King Charles may have revealed how he is influenced by Princess Charlotte.
The monarch, 76, paid a visit to east London on Thursday (June 5) to take in a culture, tech, and creativity festival in Shoreditch.
And as he left SXSW London, King Charles also popped into Old Spitalfields Market to say hello to stallholders during “Antiques Thursday”.

What is the link between King Charles and Taylor Swift?
Footage shared on Instagram showed King Charles chatting with locals during his meet and greet.
And observers of his social media post were quick to note in the comments section about how the king seemed completely unfazed by a puddle as he interacted with members of the public.
But another detail regarding the Reels upload had fans pondering about whether King Charles’ eldest granddaughter may have had a say in what is shared from the royal family account.
And that’s because the post was soundtracked with Taylor Swift tune London Boy, which onlookers felt was particularly appropriate.

Fans speculate about Princess Charlotte and Taylor Swift
“Hahahaha amazing, not the royal family official account using a Taylor Swift song! Love it!” one impressed user responded.
“This song choice is giving me life coming from an official royal account,” agreed another fan.
Another gushed: “I don’t know what I love more. The fact that he’s standing in puddles outside in the rain to talk to people. Or that this is more evident that His Majesty is a Swiftie.”
Someone else echoed that thought: “The king is Swiftie.”
“Wow, using Taylor’s music,” wrote another commenter, adding a thumbs up emoji to their words. Yet another added: “London boy! How appropriate!”
A seventh joked: “We love a London Boy/king!!!” And an eighth chipped in: “Hahaha the ultimate London Boy, I told ya!”
Meanwhile, it was rapidly floated that Princess Charlotte may have “requested” the backing music.
His grandkids love Taylor Swift, I guess so does his Majesty.
“His grandkids love Taylor Swift, I guess so does His Majesty,” one fan quipped. To which someone else replied: “I hope Charlotte requested it.” A third noted: “I mean they have met Taylor Swift and love her.”
And someone else also contributed: “Love the fact they used a Taylor Swift song. Princess Charlotte approved.”

According to reports, Princess Charlotte is a “huge Taylor Swift fan”. And the mega pop star previously shared a selfie with the young royal, her brother Prince George, and their dad in June 2024.
They had attended Taylor’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium in London.

Prince William’s dad-dancing also went viral at the time. But it isn’t the first time he’s enjoyed a performance by Taylor.
Back in 2013, she brought him to the stage during a Centrepoint charity event to join her and Jon Bon Jovi in an impromptu rendition of Livin’ on a Prayer.
