Donald Trump is being slammed online for his behaviour toward Kate Middleton.

The US President caused quite a stir during his state visit to the UK, where he spent time with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

During their state banquet at Windsor Castle, Donald Trump was seated beside Kate Middleton. It was here that he made the wrong move with the princess.

Donald Trump criticised for behaviour toward Princess Kate Middleton

Throughout his speech at the state banquet, President Trump gushed about the royals.

“I just wanna say that His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness Prince of Wales, really amazing,” he praised. “Really amazing, we’ve gotten to know you and I think you’re going to have an unbelievable success in future.”

He continued: “Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William, and to see her Royal Highness Princess Catherine.”

Mr President then turned to Kate and complimented: “So radiant and so healthy, so beautiful, it’s a really great honour, thank you.”

A clip is doing the rounds on social media which shows Trump attempting to shuffle Kate’s chair in to the table for her.

Unfortunately, some royal observers feel this wasn’t appropriate and have shared their thoughts.

The footage sees Kate, seated beside Trump, try to move her own chair in and a member of palace staff steps in to help her.

Donald Trump, who is also seated, can then be seen placing his hands onto the back of her chair and trying to assist with shuffling the princess in.

All eyes are now on Trump, who is often criticised for his near misses when it comes to breaking royal protocol.

Royal observers react

One social media user penned online: “Well, if he was being a gentleman. He would have gotten up. Helped her then sat down.”

“There are staff employed to do that,” chimed in another.

“Humph,” exclaimed a third.

Although, a few observers felt that Donald Trump was just being polite.

“Yes, he’s a gentleman,” said one.

Another agreed: “Gentleman’s etiquette.”

Meanwhile, other royal fans criticised Donald’s compliments to Kate. They felt it was a little over the top.

“He needs to quit talking about how beautiful the Princess of Wales is,” wrote one. “It is wildly inappropriate. Its good to see you looking healthy. That’s it full stop.”

“Radiant, healthy, and beautiful made me cringe so hard I broke teeth,” cringed another.
