Inside Melania Trump's jaw-dropping '£30k' gift to Queen Camilla - which the queen later removed
It wasn't a typical welcome gift of chocolate or flowers!
During the state visit to the US, Queen Camilla rocked a Tiffany & Co. brooch, gifted to her by none other than First Lady Melania Trump.
Despite the gesture, the queen quickly removed the brooch once she had departed the White House.

Queen Camilla was seen sporting a blue ensemble as well as the vintage brooch whilst waving goodbye to the White House at the end of the visit.

The sparkling jewellery featured a diamond floral setting and several rubies – a classic, yet eye-catching piece, that was a fittingly complemented by Camilla’s blue suit-dress, as Tiffany & Co. is famously wrapped in blue packaging.
However, it seems that Queen Camilla quickly had another glittering accessory to replace it with.
Queen Camilla’s meaningful jewellery
Camilla opted for a Cartier design, made up of a Union Jack design and the American flag, which she rocked upon her arrival at Arlington National Cemetery.
She wore the same piece when arriving at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on the Monday before last.
The brooch is said to have its own special history.

It was reportedly presented to the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1957 by Robert F. Wagner Jr., a former Mayor of New York.
The late Queen Elizabeth was gifted the brooch during a very important trip to the US during the height of the Cold War.
At the time, the visit was made to reinforce the bond between the US and the UK.
The brooch given to Camilla by Melania has an estimated worth of £30,000.
It was given during Melania and President Donald Trump’s State Visit to the UK last September.

In return, Camilla gifted Melania a handbag by Anya Hindmarch.
Camilla also gave Melania a silver and enamel bowl crafted by Northern Irish artist Cara Murphy.
Meanwhile, to mark the close of the royal visit to the US, the palace released a new portrait of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The photograph was taken in the Jackson Palace sitting room at Blair House.
Blair House is the president’s official guest residence opposite the White House. The image showed the royal couple looking toward each other affectionately.

In a message shared on social media, the king and queen wrote: “Farewell and thank you for the warmth of your welcome and the kind support you gave us throughout our first visit to the US as King and Queen, in this, your special anniversary year.
“We leave a piece of our [heart emoji] behind and take a little of yours back home with us. Until the next time… God Bless America.”
