Moment a young Prince Andrew 'asked girlfriend Sandi Jones to run away with him'
They seemed to be quite serious!Prince Andrew reportedly had a romance with Sandi Jones during his school days.
Many royal fans may often remember Andrew’s marriage to Sarah Ferguson. The former couple share two daughters – Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. They split in the ’90s.
Meanwhile, others may remember his relationship with American actress Koo Stark. But before both, there was Sandi Jones.
They met during Prince Andrew’s time living in Canada – and it seems things were pretty serious between the pair.

Prince Andrew and Sandi Jones’ relationship
When Prince Andrew was 16, he spent two school terms in Canada. And it was during this time Prince Andrew reportedly met and fell for Sandi Jones.
The pair met when he was watching Princess Anne compete in the Montreal Olympics in 1976. Then six months later they met again when he attended an exchange program at Lakefield College School in Ontario.
Sandi was invited to the wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. And the topic of their own relationship came up in an interview she did right before her ex got married.
Prince Andrew and Sarah tied the knot in a royal wedding back in 1986. They stayed married for 10, until 1996 – after announcing their amicable split in 1992. But the pair have remained quite good friends ever since.
He asked her to marry him and run away with him to Gretna Green.
Andrew and Sandi’s reported young love has been documented in royal books.
Author Nigel Cawthorne claimed in his book War Of The Windsors: The Inside Story Of Charles, Andrew And The Rivalry That Has Defined The Royal Family: “Sandi spent a few happy weekends with him at a remote log cabin in northern Ontario.
“On one summer’s evening, as they sat in the silence of the wilderness, he asked her to marry him and run away with him to Gretna Green. But in their hearts they both realised it was an impossible dream.”

Prince Andrew’s scandals
Over the last few weeks, Prince Andrew has been at the centre of more royal scandals. He has faced quite a lot of scrutiny over his alleged friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. And the late Virginia Giuffre accused him of sexual assault – which he has always vehemently denied.
However, with the scandals mounting, it was revealed that Andrew will no longer use his Duke of York title and will give up his remaining honours.
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew said: “In discussion with the king and my immediate family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the royal family.
“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life. With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further.
“I will therefore no longer use my titles or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
