Meghan Markle is known for well-known for her talent, business-savvy mind, chic style and beauty.

From the outside, Meghan Markle seems to have it all.

The Duchess of Sussex looks to lead a picture-perfect lifestyle: helming her own luxury lifestyle brand, gardening at her sprawling Montecito mansion, speaking out for charities close to her heart, cooking up a storm on Netflix and, of course, raising her two children with none other than hubby, Prince Harry.

However, it seems, even Meghan can pick faults in herself. In fact, every year, she is said to set the same goals.

Meghan Markle’s resolutions in the New Year

Back in 2016, Meghan Markle made a relatable admission to her blog, The Tig.

Written just months before she met her future husband, Meghan set a string of goals to ensure she presented herself in a more ‘ladylike’ manner.

As per reports, Meghan penned down a number of objectives.

She wrote: “Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year. The marathon hasn’t happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple of drinks.

“Then there’s the French – a language I studied through high school and then lost as I immersed myself in speaking Spanish with the Argentinians during my stint in Buenos Aires. I have put my little Rosetta Stone headset in my eager ears every year, resolving to do interviews en français, but much to my chagrin, it hasn’t stuck. And when it comes to the biting of the nails – well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It’s unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit.”

Instead of worrying too much, Meghan said, a decade ago, that she would instead try to approach life more playfully.

She said: “For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher. My New Year’s resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change.”

How Meghan Markle spent this New Year

In her recent As Ever newsletter, Meghan gave a glimpse into how she might be celebrating the New Year this time around.

In an message titled “pop the bubbly,” Meghan described a relaxed evening in with a bottle of something nice and her coveted flower sprinkles.

She said: “When the clock strikes midnight, we’ll be celebrating right along with you. Glasses raised, bottles of bubbly popping, and confetti in the air – only in our case, it’s Flower Sprinkles falling instead.”

She also wished her readers “good company, memorable nights, and plenty of reasons to celebrate” in 2026.
