'Outrageous' Prince William accused of 'causing disruption' with latest project
William's latest antics have been dubbed a 'contradiction'
Prince William has been slammed for his alleged disruption of a town impacted by a new project in the Duchy of Cornwall.
The Prince of Wales is reportedly working on a huge housing project and, unfortunately, it hasn’t impressed locals.
Prince William accused of ‘causing disruption’
As the Duke of Cornwall, William is the head of the Duchy of Cornwall, a large property and land portfolio.
This portfolio spans 23 counties and is made up of housing developments and castles, as well as commercial properties.
In 2027, the prince is said to be moving forward with an ambitious new project.
The prince is said to be building 620 homes in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
The plans were approved earlier this year and as things develop, more complaints have been rolling in.
Previously, the prince was dubbed as “arrogant” for going ahead with the project.

Andrew Cook, a retired business adviser, claimed the Duchy “didn’t communicate with us, they were just completely intransigent,” when it came to their plans.
He went on to say: “It’s so frustrating, the Duchy are so difficult – there is no common sense.”
Now, individuals living near to the location are chiming in again.
Locals complain to Duke of Cornwall
One resident told GB News: “The decision wasn’t much of a shock. Given the high profile of the applicant, who is going to deny a member of the Royal Family? So the plans were very much going to go ahead.”
“It’s going to have an impact on local people because we use these green spaces. Many people won’t be able to walk their dogs in these areas, and it’s the disruption it will cause, too,” they went on to say.
“It’s quite notorious that the duchy has a very slow build-out rate,” they explained. “So we’re going to have at least 30 years of [construction]. It’s going to affect tourism, which is key for the town of Faversham.”
As per reports, the resident said of the development: “It’s outrageous!” They also described Prince William’s project as a “double standard” and a “contradiction,” due to him typical promotion of schemes calling for the protection of nature.
Prince William’s plans aren’t welcomed
Residents on the edge of Poundbury in Dorset previously spoke to the The Telegraph about their concerns over their obscured countryside view due to the new housing estate plans.
They said their properties were sold with a “open countryside view,” but now trees are ruining that.
The Duchy is working with the developer C G Fry and Son Ltd, and the new estate is expected to include a primary school, a care home and commercial space.
It has been stated, as per reports, that 30 per cent of these properties will fall into the ‘affordable housing’ category, a government initiative to make housing in the UK more financially accessible.
Meanwhile, unlike salaried roles, members of the working royal family do not receive traditional incomes. Instead, William’s expenses are funded by the Duchy.
