Moment royal family was mocked at Grammys as host Trevor Noah took savage swipe amid Prince Harry drama
They may not have tuned in this year because of that reason...
The Grammys returned with their 68th annual edition of the star-studded awards show last night and this year, the royal family probably didn’t bother to tune in.
“Why?” you might ask…
Well, during the 63rd annual instalment of the shimmering show back in 2021, the royals were the butt of the joke. Did you clock it?

Royal family ‘mocked’ at The Grammys
Comedian Trevor Noah, who returned for the 68th edition on Sunday, sparked laughter from the star-studded audience during his eyebrow-raising opening monologue five years ago.
The US telly star made a very cheeky joke indeed, alongside a string of divisive comments relevant to the time.
Trevor Noah compared the event to the Capitol riots and even joked about cocaine during his opening lines.
He took aim at the royal family to kick things off, highlighting “tension” within Buckingham Palace
Very fitting, given the show took place just one week to the hour after Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah on the same network (CBS) and made damning allegations about the monarchy.
Trevor Noah joked at the event: “Our impressive nominees will be sitting at those tables for their awards. So right now there is more tension in that tent than at a family reunion at Buckingham Palace.”
Trevor’s jokes didn’t end there…
In 2023, Trevor poked fun at the royals again, this time, Prince Harry in particular.
It came shortly after Prince Harry’s bombshell release of Spare, his tell-all memoir.
Prince Harry’s ‘frostbite’ stories ‘teased’ at The Grammys
The comedian, whilst introducing James Corden to the stage, was seen sat next to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
As the camera focused upon him he teased: “James Corden is a 12-time Emmy winner and the host of The Late Late Show.
“He’s also living proof that a man can move from London to LA and not tell everyone about his frostbitten penis.”
Harry had revealed at the time that he suffered frostbite that affected his ears, cheeks and “todger” after a charity walk to the North Pole in 2011 in his jaw-dropping memoir.
He wrote: “Pa was very interested, and sympathetic about the discomfort of my frost-nipped ears and cheeks. While the ears and cheeks were already healing, the todger wasn’t. It was becoming more of an issue by the day.”
The Grammys 2026
During last night’s Grammy Awards, on February 1, British star Yungblud won best rock performance for his live rendition of Black Sabbath’s Changes, which was recorded during Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert in Birmingham last year.

The Doncaster singer admitted this was a “bittersweet” moment, following Ozzy’s death in July last year.
Sharon Osbourne was also in attendance, along with her and Ozzy’s children, Kelly and Jack.
Sharon even went on stage with Yungblud when he accepted his award.
A number of acts performed last night, including British artist Lola Young, who won her first Grammy for Best Pop Performance, for her breakout single Messy.

Performances at The Grammys
Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler the Creator, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Rosé were amongst the acts that took to the stage.
Post Malone was joined onstage by guitar legends Slash and Duff McKagan, drummer Chad Smith, and producer-guitarist Andrew Watt for an explosive rendition of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs, paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne.
Justin Bieber also made his Grammys return with a performance of Yukon, from his 2025 album Swag 2, sporting just his boxers, in a captivating stripped back display, whilst his wife Hailey Bieber smiled on proudly.

London artist Olivia Dean was also amongst some of the most notable wins, picking up the award for Best New Artist.
A number of British artists including FKA Twigs, Cynthia Erivo, Charli XCX, The Cure and PinkPantheress were also in attendance last night.

It was definitely a night to remember and it seems the royal family were in the clear when it came to the punchlines…
