Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie could make a big appearance at their cousin Peter Phillips’ upcoming wedding amid the scandal surrounding their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Princess Anne’s son Peter is set to wed his fiancée Harriet Sperling next month in a private ceremony. They’ll marry at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester, on Saturday June 6.

According to reports, Beatrice and Eugenie have been invited to the nuptials. This will mark the first major public event the sisters have attended since the scandal surrounding their parents, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

Scandal surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

Reports claim that Andrew won’t be attending his nephew Peter’s wedding to Harriet.

He has been keeping a low profile following his arrest in February. He was arrested on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct public office.

The arrest came after Andrew was accused of sharing confidential and sensitive information with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his time as UK’s trade envoy.

Andrew served as the UK’s trade envoy between 2001 and 2011.

Under official guidance, trade envoys have a duty of confidentiality over sensitive, commercial, or political information about their official visits.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Following his arrest, Andrew was released under investigation.

For years Andrew has faced scrutiny over his past association with Epstein. He was also accused of sexual assault, allegations he has always denied.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie set to attend Peter Phillips’ wedding

While Andrew reportedly won’t be at Peter’s wedding, it’s claimed that his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie will be in attendance.

A source has told The Sun: “The royal family needs good news and nothing unites like a big church wedding.

“Beatrice is going and Eugenie is in the second trimester of her pregnancy but hopes to attend. The king always wanted both to remain part of the family.”

They added: “He made it clear they are welcome at family events.”

Beatrice and Eugenie ‘aghast’ over Epstein scandal

Throughout the scandal surrounding their parents, Beatrice and Eugenie have remained quiet.

However, according to reports, the sisters have been left distressed over the scandal. The claims came after emails emerged in the Epstein files, allegedly showing their mother Sarah in contact with Epstein.

According to the files released in January, a 2010 email from “Sarah” to Epstein read: “You are a legend. I really don’t have the words to describe my love and gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.” [Sic]

Elsewhere, photographs within the files appeared to show their father Andrew kneeling on all fours over a woman who was laid down on the floor. In one image, he can be seen with his hand on her stomach as she’s fully clothed.

No context was provided for the images. Being named or pictured among the Epstein files is not an indication of wrongdoing.

The images and emails allegedly left Beatrice and Eugenie “aghast” and “mortified”, according to sources.
