Princess Eugenie announced her third pregnancy this week, much to the delight of the royal family.

Eugenie is already a mum to her two sons, August, five, and Ernest, two. She is now expecting baby number three with her husband Jack Brooksbank.

Amid the happy news, one royal commentator has issued a warning to Eugenie’s mother Sarah Ferguson.

Sarah, 66, has been lying low in recent months as she faces intense scrutiny over her past links to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Princess Eugenie announces third pregnancy

On Instagram, Eugenie, 36, shared a photo showing the top of August and Ernest’s heads as they held an ultrasound image.

She gushed: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!”

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace also issued a statement. It read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.

“August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.

“His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

Scandal surrounding Andrew and Sarah

This means Eugenie’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, will become grandparents again.

But one royal commentator believes they will need to keep a low profile.

Both Andrew, 66, and Sarah have been away from the royal spotlight for months following scrutiny over their past association with Epstein.

The former couple were both named in the batch of Epstein files which were released in January by the US Department of Justice. It’s resulted in many questions being asked about their past ties to the disgraced financier.

In February, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He spent 11 hours in police custody, before being released under investigation.

The arrest came after Andrew was accused of sharing confidential and sensitive information with Epstein during his time as UK’s trade envoy. These allegations emerged in emails from the batch of released Epstein files earlier in the year.

Taking a backseat isn’t in her nature, but for Eugenie’s sake, she has no choice.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

Meanwhile, Sarah was seemingly named in the files after emails allegedly showed her calling Epstein a “legend”.

Another email appeared to show Sarah describing Epstein as “the brother I have always wished for”.

Being named or pictured among the Epstein files is not an indication of wrongdoing.

Sarah Ferguson told to ‘keep a low profile’ amid baby news

According to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, Sarah will “undoubtedly be delighted” by Eugenie’s pregnancy news.

He told the Express: “This is very happy news and has been welcomed by the king who is known to be extremely fond of his nieces. Sarah Ferguson will undoubtedly be delighted. However, as we saw with Andrew when Athena [Princess Beatrice’s daughter] was christened last December, she will have to keep a low profile. He was not included in the Christening photographs and nor was she.

“There may be possibilities for interviews if she decides to go down that path, but there are no comeback possibilities after recent events.

“Taking a backseat isn’t in her nature, but for Eugenie’s sake, she has no choice.”
