Rumours are swirling over whether the Sussexes will make a trip to Britain over the summer months. Reports suggest that the Duke of Sussex would like an invite from his father to spend some time at Balmoral, where the royal family usually spends the summer months.
But how would a UK visit by the Sussexes work? One royal commentator has shared details on what could happen.
Prince Harry tipped to make UK visit this summer
Speaking to the Mirror, former BBC royal correspondent Ingrid Seward shared her thoughts on a possible visit from the Sussexes.
She said: “The only place that really I think they could meet if the king is to get to know or at least see his grandchildren, is at Balmoral. It’s the only time the king has time and the Sussexes could be accommodated there because there’s lots of cottages on the Estate.”
On where Meghan and Harry could stay in the UK, Ingrid believes they’d expect to stay at Balmoral Castle itself.
She explained: “Harry and Meghan don’t have to stay in the castle, although of course they would expect to, but that’s fine. They would make sure, obviously, that William and Kate weren’t there at the same time. So it’s not that difficult, and it can be done fairly under the radar.”
William and Kate ‘wouldn’t be there’
Ingrid went on to discuss who Harry and Meghan could reunite with. She believes the king would ensure his eldest son Prince William wouldn’t be there with his family.

Harry and William’s relationship is said to be strained. Harry’s memoir Spare and his tell-all interviews alongside Meghan has reportedly damaged relations.
It’s even reported that William and Harry aren’t even on speaking terms.
Ingrid told the Mirror: “I think the king would pick very carefully who was going to be there at the same time, and it certainly wouldn’t be William and Kate. If it were, I’d be absolutely astounded. Charles would get to say, ‘Darling boy, of course come to Balmoral’, and then because he’s the king, he could let his aides deal with everything else.”
It comes after reports emerged suggesting that Harry was hoping for an invite to Balmoral this summer.
An insider claimed to Closer: “Harry and Meghan are expected to spend over a month in Europe this summer, using their newly completed villa in Portugal as a base while travelling back and forth for engagements and private visits. The family are understood to be flying over shortly after Archie and Lilibet finish school in June.

“Harry is pushing hard for a family stay at Balmoral this summer while he and Meghan are based in Europe, with hopes of arranging a private meeting with King Charles. He’s determined to make it happen. Harry genuinely believes Balmoral could be the place where things finally start healing.”
