Princess Kate opened up about the unwavering support she has received from Prince William throughout her cancer diagnosis and treatment.

On March 22 in 2024, Kate announced her cancer diagnosis to the world. It came after many conspiracy theories over Kate’s whereabouts as she hadn’t been seen since Christmas Day 2023.

In a candid moment during a royal visit in February 2025, Kate called her husband “amazing”.

The Prince and Princess of Wales braved the rainy weather on February 26 during a visit to Pontypridd, Wales, where they met with crowds of well-wishers eager to greet the couple.

Holding umbrellas and warmly shaking hands with fans, William, 42, and Kate, 43, took the time to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received during this difficult time.

Princess Kate calls Prince William ‘amazing’ following cancer battle

In a video – which you can see here – captured by Ellie Flockton and shared by royal fan accounts, Kate was seen smiling as she praised William’s unwavering presence throughout her health battle.

“He’s been amazing,” she said.

She added that the support from the public had also played a significant role in helping them through this challenging time.

Kate gushed: “We’ve felt the support from everyone, so it’s meant a lot.”

The brief but touching exchange shows how much Kate leans on William as she continues her recovery.

Later in the day, William and Kate were seen sharing a sweet moment of affection, something rarely witnessed in public.

In a video shared on their official social media pages, the pair were spotted holding hands as they walked through a train station before heading home.

Prince William’s support for his wife has extended far beyond the public eye.

We’ve felt the support from everyone, so it’s meant a lot.

In February 2024, the Prince of Wales abruptly withdrew from a memorial service for his godfather, King Constantine of Greece, at the last minute.

At the time, the reason for his absence was unclear. However, it was later claimed that William had made the decision to stay home due to Kate’s then-private cancer diagnosis.

In her March 2024 video announcement, Kate acknowledged William’s crucial role in helping her through her journey.

She said: “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support, and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.”

Kate announces she’s in remission

The royal couple’s greatest focus throughout Kate’s cancer diagnosis has been their three children.

In her initial health announcement, Kate revealed that she and William had taken their time to navigate the situation privately before informing the public.

“This of course came as a huge shock,” she began. “William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

Now in remission, Kate has expressed gratitude for those who have stood by her family throughout this difficult period. The princess also said she’s adapting to a “new normal”.

“My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more,” she wrote on social media in January.

A royal insider recently told People that this challenging time has strengthened William and Kate’s marriage. They explained that the hardship has made the couple “more open” about their love for each other.

“For the princess, family – her husband and children – are more important than anything else,” they shared.

They also claimed that the couple spend more time talking about their relationship now.
