Now, the princess’ positive message to sister Pippa and daughter Charlotte while at the tournament has been revealed.

Princess Kate at Wimbledon
Last year was a difficult year for the Princess of Wales.
Kate was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024 and underwent treatment for it too.
She did begin to make royal appearances at the mid-point of the year, making a memorable one at Trooping the Colour alongside her family.
In July, the 43-year-old delighted royal fans by making an appearance at the Wimbledon final. The Princess of Wales was joined by her sister, Pippa Middleton, and her daughter, Princess Charlotte.
After watching Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic, she presented Alcaraz with the trophy.
Kate is the patron of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which carries out the day-to-day operations of The Championships. This is a role she has had since 2016.

Princess Kate’s response after emotional return to Wimbledon
Kate’s memorable appearance at the final was only the second time she’d been seen that year.
The princess was spotted speaking to Pippa, Charlotte, and tennis pro-Debbie Jevans, who was sitting nearby.
Lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling has since revealed that she was telling Charlotte and Pippa where to sit and shared a positive message too.
Reading Kate’s lips, Nicola noted the Princess of Wales say: “Charlotte, I want you to sit here, and Pippa, you’re next to Charlotte. Just here.”
She then turned to former tennis pro Jevans, saying joyfully: “It’s so good, and we’re seated together.”
Kate has long been a fan of tennis and is a regular attendee of the Wimbledon tournament.

The hidden meaning behind Kate’s bow at Wimbledon
Royal fans may have noticed in the past that Kate wears a special dark green and purple striped bow on her outfit when attending the Wimbledon final.
The bow is a nod to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the venue where the Wimbledon championships are held each year.
The club’s colours have been green and purple since 1909.
The Princess of Wales’ nod to the organisers of the venue, which has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the tournament since 2016, is extremely fitting considering she is a patron.
She first wore the bow back in 2017.

Kate on her love of tennis
Speaking to Sue Barker back in 2017 during a BBC documentary, Kate gushed over her love for tennis.
“I have watched Wimbledon, which was very much part of my growing up. It’s such a quintessential part of the English summer, and I think it really inspires youngsters, myself,” she said.
“It inspired me when I was younger to get involved in the game. It hasn’t changed either, I think that’s what’s so wonderful,” she then continued.
In 2018, during an outing at a South London school, Kate told the schoolkids, “I love tennis, I think it’s a great sport, I was really sporty when I was little, less so now that I’ve got lots of babies!”
It remains to be seen whether we’ll see the Princess of Wales at this year’s tournament, especially after she pulled out of the Royal Ascot last minute.
