Queen Camilla's 'surprising' question for Novak Djokovic while at Wimbledon
Queen Camilla made her first appearance at Wimbledon this season
After a glamorous night at Windsor Castle, Queen Camilla attended Wimbledon on July 9, and surprised none other than Novak Djokovic with a rather unexpected question.
The 77-year-old royal, glowing in summery pastels, arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to attend the 10th day of the Championships.
She was accompanied by her sister Annabel Elliot and All England Club chair Debbie Jevans. The Queen greeted staff and groundspeople with warm smiles before heading to the iconic Royal Box.
But it was Queen Camilla’s brief exchange with seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic that has everyone talking.

Queen Camilla’s ‘surprising’ question to Novak Djokovic
Djokovic, who later booked his place in a record-equalling 14th Wimbledon semi-final after defeating Italy’s Flavio Cobolli, revealed during his post-match press conference that he was taken aback by Queen Camilla’s line of conversation.
“I prefer not sharing that. It’s private,” Djokovic told reporters, as reported by Express. “We had a nice exchange. I was actually surprised with her comment and a question that she asked. It was non-tennis related. She was very pleasant. Very, very pleasant.”
While the tennis star remained tight-lipped about the Queen’s exact words, his reaction sparked intrigue among fans and royal watchers.
He added: “Of course, it’s a great honour and privilege for me to be able to shake hands with the Queen of England. I’ve had that honour, as well, in 2010 with the late Queen Elizabeth.
Wimbledon has been traditionally attracting the royal family. It’s beautiful to see there’s still an interest in our sport.”

Queen Camilla greeted with applause at Wimbledon
Camilla’s appearance marks the most senior royal attendance at Wimbledon so far this year.
Princess Kate, the tournament’s patron, has yet to attend this summer amid her gradual return to royal duties following cancer treatment. However, Camilla’s outing carried the royal torch at the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament.
As Queen Camilla took her seat in Wimbledon’s Royal Box, she was greeted with a round of applause, with clips of the moment shared widely online.
“Eat that haters. Queen Camilla is applauded by Wimbledon Centre Court as she arrives,” one fan tweeted alongside the video.
“I truly admire her stamina. I’m exhausted just thinking of the schedule they keep,” another fan gushed in the comments.
The outing came less than 24 hours after Camilla appeared in full royal glam at the French state banquet. The banquet was hosted in honour of President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. There, she turned heads in a stunning ivory gown and the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, once owned by Queen Elizabeth II.
Meanwhile, Princess Kate paired her red Givenchy gown with the Lover’s Knot Tiara, which was known to be a favourite of Princess Diana.
Both women accessorised with the Royal Family Order of King Charles III.
